Company Volta Trucks which develops electric vehicles and is engaged in providing services and Cake, another Swedish company that makes light electric motorcycles, have announced a collaboration which, together with the decarbonisation and decongesting of last mile deliveries, also aims to improve the delivery service.

The partnership

Volta Trucks e Cake were born in light of the new challenges regarding mobility. These are different vehicles (an electric truck and electric motorcycles), but oriented towards the same objectives. According to indications, the integration of technologies offers advantages to distributors engaged in the field of e-commerce.
Being able to circulate even in the most restrictive zero-emission zones, the Volta Zero truck will represent a mobile micro hub or a mini warehouse. Cake's electric motorbikes will be loaded onto the vehicle at the distribution center at the start of the working day and then deployed in the city centre. Therefore the motorbikes will be used for the rapid delivery of parcels to customers, without burdening traffic and avoiding parking problems. Volta Zero can reach other destinations during the day or, if necessary, provide replaceable batteries for Cake motorcycles to support efficient coverage.

Una proof of service will take place with the H&M Group, scheduled in the first quarter of the 2023 in Paris.
