Volkswagen, a new electric scooter will arrive by 2016

Volkswagen – Volkswagen would also be ready to introduce an electric scooter into its business. The latest "electrifying" indiscretion comes from colleagues at Car and Driver, according to which the German brand is ready to give us a new futuristic two-wheeled model.

Volkswagen is a brand that works all-round to say the least, from cars to trucks and in its vast portfolio we can find manufacturers such as Audi, Seat, Škoda, Lamborghini, Bentley, Ducati, Scania, MAN and Bugatti. But until today we could never have imagined hearing the words electric scooter. We all know how important and indispensable the wording EV is now in the automotive world and beyond, and this is why Martin Winterkorn, CEO of Volkswagen, revealed in an interview with the German newspaper “Bild” that Volkswagen is looking forward to launching a new electric two-wheeler in the second half of 2016.

The new Volkswagen electric scooter can be used as a "last-mile surfer", that is a vehicle capable of traveling short distances from the parking lot to the destination point or for a low number of km. It will be foldable so that it can be taken anywhere and fit in the trunk of a medium-sized Volkswagen. In fact, it will weigh around 10 kg and will have a range in electric mode of 20 kilometers. All this for less than $1.000.
