Reality Voi Technology, specialized in shared electric micro-mobility, closed 2022 with reaching one million trips and exceeding 2 million kilometers traveled in a year in the seven Italian cities in which it operates: Turin, Milan, Rho, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Rome and Palermo. Considering only the Capital, they were over 300.000 trips made for about 650.000 kilometers and the number of users has grown in a year of 7,2%.

The service in Rome

Keeping in mind the concept of “City in 15 minutes”, within Voi's Vision in the development of “Cities made to be lived in – on a human scale”, among approximately 110 European cities considered by a Sony CLS study and reported on the occasion, Rome is in 99th place among the locations that come closest to realizing the model.
Leaving aside the UNESCO area of the capital, there is still a lack of essential services for citizens within a 15 minute walk. In these contexts, electric micromobility can have a functional role in integrating the city's public transport service and supporting more agile and efficient travel.
According to a Voi Technology study, a 12-minute city trip on a scooter could take 17 minutes by car, considering traffic and the time spent looking for parking. In light of this, the Voi Technology service in one year allowed Roman users to save 3 years of time, more than 20 minutes each, which indicates the potential of the service, as indicated.
Returning to the company's results from last year, a growing trend emerged recorded by the Sharing Mobility Observatory, with a 61% increase in trips in 2021 compared to 2020. The Moovit report for public mobility underlined that in Rome the average time of use of public transport for one journey is 52 minutes; over 4% of Romans travel more than two hours to reach their destination and 25% use between one and two hours; on average Romans wait for the vehicle at the stop for 16 minutes, but 24% for over 20 minutes; therefore 43% of Romans use at least two modes of public transport on the same journey to reach their destination.
Added to all this is what has been ascertained by Voi Technology, underlining that approximately 34,5% of the trips of Roman users on Voi Technology scooters, during 2022, were made to integrate another means of public transport.
