Victory Motorcycles – Polaris closes Victory Motorcycles. The brand would have little profitability derived from the sale of motorcycles. After 18 years of life, Polaris has made a difficult decision, as confirmed by Scott Wine, president and CEO of the Minneapolis group founded in 1954 and also owner of the Indian Motorcycles brand.

Victory Motorcycles has invested heavily over the last 18 years and created 60 motorcycle models. Victory struggled to have adequate and profitable market shares, but it is Indian that has sown and reaped better in commercial terms. Victory Motorcycles sells only 10.000 motorcycles a year and the future prospects were not very rosy anyway.

Now Polaris will have to support dealerships in relation to inventories, ensuring warranties and guaranteeing the availability of spare parts for ten years. The Minneapolis group is expected to complete the liquidation process within the next 18 months. The patents will remain in the hands of Polaris and Indian will benefit from it. Indeed, not all evil has a silver lining, Polaris will thus be able to improve its profitability by strengthening competitiveness in the sector.

To think that the new 2017 range from Victory Motorcycles was presented a few months ago and included the Octane 1200, the electric Empulse and the cruisers Gunner, Hammer, Vegas, the baggers Magnum and Cross Country, the tourist cars Cross Country Tour and Vision Tour.
