Valentino Rossi, well in Misano, but the Sachsenring remains in doubt

Just so as not to leave the Valentino-injury-Ducati epic and the saga of the vicissitudes of the world championship dormant, it is correct to update the readers on what happened yesterday in Misano: as you already know - informed about the latest events that bear the Doctor's signature –, during the past day, Valentino carried out some tests on the circuit with a Yamaha YZF-R1 supplied and prepared by the manufacturer's Superbike Team and intended for the Champion from Tavullia and his Fiat Yamaha team.

Rossi completed approximately 26 laps on the track, divided into two sections of 11 laps before and 15 after: despite his proverbial obstinacy, he was unable to improve the time set during the last Superbike event on the same Misano track, truly remarkable for a rider who has just arrived fresh from a fracture.

Valentino defined the test as positive, although - he reiterates it himself - a MotoGP race is something much more onerous than yesterday's test, which had the task of measuring the real conditions and decreeing recovery terms, the course of the post- operation and type of rehabilitation to follow.

However, despite the most positive smiles and wishes, Rossi complained of pain in the shoulder, hip and knee, a lack of energy in the shoulder which he managed to recover at the end of the test, even managing to acquire an improvement in the sensation at the hip. The Doctor expressed his querulous comment only at the end of his experience, confirming that he would like to return to racing at the Sachsenring in Germany in ten days, but admits that it is still too early to say.

I would like but I can't? Even our judgments are formulated prematurely and the lack of details in the medical bulletin does not support any thesis. Consequently, we await the new twist in an increasingly convoluted story. In the most absolute suspense, which could even last until the MotoGP in Brno.
