The TT Tourist Trophy 2017 mourns three victims in this edition. The latest victim is the Irishman Alan Bonner went off the road in the “33rd Milestone” zone during qualifying for the Senior TT.

The 48-year-old had previously died Davey Lambert, due to injuries sustained in Sunday's crash during the Superbike race on the Isle of Man. Davey lost control of his Kawasaki on the third lap of the race at Greeba Castle. After first aid, he was transported to Nobles Hospital and later transferred to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool, but there was nothing that could be done for him.

Also on Wednesday 7 June, the Dutchman also passed away Jochem van den Hoek, which went off the road at the 11th Milestone. Even in this case, help was useless. The three deaths reignite the debate on the appropriateness of an event that is being consideredor among the most dangerous in the world and which in its history has already claimed over 250 victims. But no controversy from the victims' families. For example, Lambert's published a post on Facebook: “Davey left this world exactly the way he wanted, doing what he loved. He was a great man with an even bigger heart“, we read in the message. His family then thanked the doctors who tried to save his life.

Despite the many deaths, the charm of the TT has not suffered any damage and in recent years the success has increased further, as well as the commitment of manufacturers, accessory suppliers and sponsors. Accidents are not fatalities, but the norm. Just think that in 2016, between tests and races, there were four victims.
