The route of the Mugello was the scene of a new challenge of Moto Guzzi Fast Endurance Trophy in this 2022. All the 36 bikes with GCorse Racing Kit e Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp RS tires lined up at the start, a new attendance record, they concluded the “mini endurance” da 75 minutes scheduled for this third challenge of the season. Even on this occasion he was the Team 598 to win the match, but the awarding of the Trophy is postponed to the last two races scheduled in Misano.

The challenge raced at Mugello

The Tuscan track welcomed the challengers 27 e August 28th. An interesting event due to its characteristics, given that the facility also hosts world-class races such as the Italian MotoGP GP. The race was also made more interesting by the presence of a prominent name in international motorcycling: the 500 1981 class world champion Marco Lucchinelli. After testing the V7 Trofeo, Lucchinelli accepted the invitation of Officine Italiane Zard which supplies the exhaust system of the GCorse Racing Kit, taking part in the Mugello challenge as a special guest together with another former MotoGP champion, Fausto Ricci, champion European 250 cc in 1988. The two finished the race with a significant sixth place.

The battle lasted 75 minutes and the Team 598 duo Stefano Nari and Emiliano Bellucci once again prevailed over their rivals, winning their fourth victory in a row and consolidating first place in the rankings. Second at the finish line were Alberto Rota and Mauro Poloni of Team AR#28, leading in the first part of the race and, thanks to this result, among the challengers for the final conquest of the Trophy. Third were the two Graziano Milone - Francesco Varanese from Team Zard who, thanks to a great performance, achieved their first place on the podium.
The fastest lap in the race was set by the Scuderia Vecchia Modena Bull Bikes team with Sandro Caprara. The driver, supported by Mauro Ansaloni, recorded a time of 2'15”523, at an average speed of almost 140 km/h.

In the ranking, Team 598 has reached 80 points, unbeaten so far, but the season is not decided given that Guaracing Factory Team 1 (Rubini-Rizzardi), who finished fifth in the challenge at Mugello, follows at 60 points, followed closely by Team AR#28 at 58 points. Also competing among the teams still in the running for the scepter of the Trophy are Team Zard with 52 points and Tulli Racing VMS (Ioghà-Bonavolta) with 49 points, which remain mathematically linked to the group of contenders, in view of the double challenge at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Also interesting is the comparison in the 750 class, contested aboard the V7 III protagonists in the first three editions of the Trophy. Second consecutive success for the Nuova M2 Racing team with Nicola Marcato and Franco Piccirilli, now second in the category ranking with 64 points, just two points less than the pair from Team Rapaci 1 (Luca Fornasiero-Mauro Rossignoli), who arrived on the occasion seconds. Third at the finish line was the duo from the In Moto Con l'Africa team (Cristiano Franco-Alejandro Facundo Perriot), on the podium for the first time.
As mentioned, the season is decided on the Misano asphalt with two challenges in the program 15 e 16 October, the first of the two held at night under the floodlights and using the V7 headlights only in this race.
