Triumph Tiger Sport 660: a versatile dual sport at EICMA 2021 [LIVE PHOTOS]

Triumph Tiger Sport 660 it is a medium-displacement dual model equipped with a three-cylinder drive unit. The bike is present at the 2021 edition of EICMA, the International Two Wheel Exhibition.

Design

In short, a model designed to be versatile in everyday use and functional on long journeys. Three color combinations are worth mentioning: a refined combination Lucerne Blue and Sapphire Black; the sporty vision linked to colours Korosi Red and Graphite with graphics, hence the elegant symbiosis Graphite and Black.
There are also various matching Original Triumph Accessories, for example the rigid side bags in body color of 29 liters on the right and 28 liters on the left, as well as a large 47 liter top case, a waterproof roll bag and a practical aluminum luggage rack for concerns the transport of baggage. Also interesting are the possible technological solutions for this example such as a My Triumph Connectivity system, the USB charging socket under the saddle, progressive directional indicators, heated grips, a Triumph Shift Assist bidirectional electronic gearbox and tire pressure control.
The design appears aerodynamic with sculpted features, starting from the front area up to the minimalist tail. The aesthetics is also enhanced by elements such as: the rear-view mirrors, the protections for the fork legs and the side panels located to protect the radiator. The compactness is underlined by the shape of the exhaust terminal visible at the bottom. The windscreen is height-adjustable, the sculpted tank can accommodate up to 17 liters of fuel and there are also supports for the rigid side bags integrated into the tail profile.

Technique and technology

The motorbike features light assemblies LED with direction indicators equipped with automatic deactivation function. The multi-function instrumentation is visible on a TFT color screen, which can be connected with the aforementioned My Triumph Connectivity system to provide arrow navigation or manage the GoPro action camera, along with other features. Operations that can be managed via the handlebar controls.
Also functional is the presence of an anti-slipper clutch with a control lever designed to avoid fatigue, in addition to the indication of the two riding modes Road and Rain, which are associated with different modes of activation of the traction control, as well as the response varies of the throttle control. Traction control can be deactivated, as noted.
The compact frame is associated with an upside down Showa da solution 41 millimeters with 150 mm of travel and behind an adjustable monoshock shock absorber for riding in pairs or singles. The preload is manageable. Moving on to the ABS braking system, a double floating front disc is highlighted 310 mm and Nissin 2-piston calipers, then behind a disc from 255 mm and single-piston Nissin caliper. The aluminum wheels are 17-inch with a 5-spoke design, dressed in original equipment Michelin Road 5 tyres. The wheelbase extends for 1.418 mm and the saddle stands at a height of 835 mm with double-seat ergonomics designed to accommodate a passenger.

Motor

It features a three-cylinder engine 660 cc, approved Euro 5, with ride-by-wire accelerator and an optimized 6-speed gearbox. The power reaches altitude 81 horses at 10.250 rpm, with 64 Nm of torque at 6.250 rpm. There is also a depowering kit for holders of an A2 licence, a reversible solution.
