The new range Triumph Tiger 1200 includes five expressions. Plus videos proposed by Official Triumph Motorcycles the characteristics of the new ones are described on YouTube Tiger 1200GT Pro e Tiger 1200GT Explorer, which together with the Tiger 1200GT make up an overview. The new Triumph Tiger 1200 models are powered by a new three-cylinder engine with T-Plane shaft and the Explorer versions are equipped with a 30 liters, while on the other models there is one from 20 liters.

A compact vision

Lightness and an exploratory attitude are characterizing aspects of the project. A low weight is highlighted over 25 kg compared to the previous generation and up to 17 kg less compared to the main competitor, with comparable specifications and shaft final transmission.

The specimen Tiger 1200GT wears one color Snowdonia White, while to the models Tiger 1200GT Pro e GT Explorer in addition to Snowdonia White the colors can be associated Sapphire Black e Lucerne Blue. Finally for the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro e Rally Explorer the shades are indicated Sapphire Black, Matt Khaki and again Snowdonia White.

The style is lean and sculpted, keeping in mind a general unification of dimensions and observing the surfaces and the mechanical part, with chassis settings that distinguish GT and Rally. Also characterizing are the central part of the vehicle and the development of the saddle which facilitate the support of the feet on the ground.
GT models feature 3-spoke wheels 19 inches in front and from 18 inches behind, while the Rally range is equipped with tubeless spoked rims and the front one is from 21 inches.

Technology

Distinctive type daylight signature LED integrated into the front light cluster and there is also a solution Adaptive Cornering Lights, a cornering function sensitive to the angle of inclination present on all versions apart from the Tiger 1200 GT model, which also does not include heated grips, central stand and a function Hill hold which prevents the vehicle from moving backwards in the event of an uphill start.
There are various functional solutions in the range such as the backlit blocks with 5-way central joystick, under-seat compartment with USB charging socket and electronically adjustable cruise control. Also included is a Triumph Shift Assist, active uphill and downshifting without necessarily activating the clutch lever, also in this case except on the Tiger 1200 GT, however offered in post-assembly.
The instrument panel Seven inch color TFT is equipped with specific graphics to which to associate a My Triumph Connectivity System. Depending on the model, there can be up to six driving modes with interventions on delivery and response, in addition to the action of other solutions. In Rain mode the thrust is electronically limited to 100 horsepower.

For Tiger 1200 GT the programs are highlighted Rain , Road e Sport; for Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer the modes Road, Rain , Sport, Rider-customizable e Off-Road; finally for Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and Rally Explorer the programs Road, Rain , Sport, Rider-customizable, Off-Road e Off-Road Pro. The Off-Road Pro mode represents the most extreme mapping for off-road use, with the deactivation of ABS and traction control, also optimizing the stress on the engine.
The same Cornering Traction Control is optimized and included as standard in each version and, through the data collected by the platform IMU, finalizes the system intervention parameters based on the chosen mode.
The GT Explorer and Rally Explorer variants are also equipped with a heating system for the driver and passenger seats and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Solutions that can however be combined with post-assembly versions. And always on these there is also a new and exclusive one Triumph Blind Spot Radar system, developed together with Continental, which is associated with Blind Spot Assist functions via a radar located in the rear area with signaling of a presence in the blind spot and a Lane Change Assist which warns when you are about to change lane and this is already occupied from another vehicle.

Functionality and chassis

There is a windscreen in front and the position can also be changed while driving. The position of the handlebar is optimized based on the specific features of the models, emphasizing a greater width 20 millimeters compared to the previous one and appearing higher than 16 mm only on GT Explorer and Rally Explorer models. Handguards are present throughout the overview, while the aluminum guards are distinguishable in design and extent on the GT and Rally models. Additional protective elements are noted for the GT Explorer and Rally Explorer models with engine protection bars, also extended to the tank in the case of the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer. However, they are features that can be added later on models that do not have them as standard, as indicated.
Moving on to handling, the overall weight is reduced by 25 kg compared to the previous generation. A reduction also linked to the choice of aluminum to develop the tank and the double-sided rear swingarm with tri-link technology.

The frame is 5,4 kg more compact and lighter than the previous one which is associated with a bolted rear section. The models are also equipped with an under-saddle mechanism that allows the seat to be quickly fixed at two different heights, with a variation of 20 mm.
On the GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer models the seat height changes by 850/870 mm, while for the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer specimens the variation changes between 875 mm e 895 mm. Among the accessories, a low saddle is also listed for a further 20 mm of containment.
From a technical point of view, we also highlight the latest generation semi-active Showa electronic suspension with dedicated settings and a Brembo Stylema® braking system featured on all models. Also indicated are the Magura HC-1 adjustable levers. The Triumph Tiger 1200 GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer models featuring 19 and 18 inch wheels with aluminum spoke rims are fitted with Metzeler Tourance™ tires as original equipment; on the other hand, the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer versions with 21 and 18 inch tubeless spoked rims feature the more versatile Metzeler Karoo Street™, but Michelin Anakee Wild tires are also indicated in the booklet.

Propulsive heart

The triple engine 1.160 cc it is characterized by a T-plane configuration with firing of the three cylinders at irregular intervals. Nine more horsepower are reported, reaching a peak of 150 horses at 9.000 rpm and a higher torque of 8 Nm reaching i 130 Nm at 7.000 rpm.
