Triumph Thunderbird Commander and LT on sale in April

The former is a power cruiser, the LT is for long trips

Triumph dealers will host the new ones in April Thunderbird Commander and LT (Light Touring). Two colors for the first, Lava Red/Crimson Sunset and Phantom Black/Storm Gray at a price of 17.590 €. Caspian Blue/Crystal White and Lava Red/Phantom Black are the colors for the LT version, a 18.530 € only on order.

In addition to the standard Thunderbird and the Storm, the new Commander, characterized by the iconic double headlight, fork with protectors, exhausts, saddle with double layer padding and lumbar support and lots of chrome scattered around the bike.

Aimed at those who love tourism, the Thunderbird LT offers quick release windscreens, auxiliary headlights, removable leather bags, sissy bars, maxi fenders and spoked wheels, with Avon tires 150/80-16″ at the front and 180/70-16″ at the rear, with the evocative white shoulder, the only radials available on the market and mounted on 56-spoke rims.

For both the powerful 1.699 cc parallel twin T16 already mounted on the Storm power cruiser with 94 HP of maximum power at 5.400 rpm and 151 Nm of torque at just 3.550 rpm. There fork is a 47 mm Showa, while a pair of Showa lateral shock absorbers are mounted at the rear, with preload adjustable to five positions. Brakes with Nissin calipers to work a 310 mm disc and Standard ABS.

For the new cruisers the chassis changes, which gives a lower seat to increase agility; the saddle has also been revised and adapted for long journeys. The superstructures and the shape of the exhausts change.
