Triumph TE-1: demonstration prototype of the project shown [PHOTO]

The example ready for road tests

Il demonstration prototype linked to TE-1 project, fruit of the collaboration between Triumph Motorcycles, Williams Advanced Engineering, Integral Powertrain Ltd and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of Warwick, funded by the UK Government's Office for Zero Emission Vehicles via InnovateUK with the aim of developing technologies in the field of electric two-wheeled vehicles and integrated design choices; was shown ahead of the new phase of road testing overseen by Triumph.

The demonstration prototype

On this occasion we underline the completion of phase 3 of the project with the definition of the demonstrative prototype. The result of a first example of collaboration between high-level partners in various sectors, based on the contributions of the different entities involved.
Il TE-1 project it is functional for the development of technologies that improve the performance of electric two-wheeled vehicles, projecting the future proposal of Triumph models in an innovative way, relaunching English style and production.
The results achieved exceeded the requirements and targets set by the UK Vehicle Commission for 2025, as reported. A platform that offers high development potential for two-wheeled electric mobility.

The 4 phase

Once the demonstration prototype is completed, we start with the testing process. A test program designed to obtain valuable information regarding the final set-up and fine-tuning of the specimen.
For the next six months, the vehicle will undergo a testing program at Triumph factories to check various aspects.
Road tests are planned to evaluate accelerator calibration, transmission mapping, power and torque delivery, development of driving modes, validate software functions, verify thermal optimization and examine consumption and range.

On the track, other parameters such as handling, acceleration, braking and regenerative braking management, anti-wheelie control and traction control will be checked.
The road tests will presumably be completed by the summer of 2022. The prototype will subsequently be updated with complete panels and graphics, in view of the demonstration on the track and the presentation to the press. In view of the event, the final results of the project, the specifications and the outcome of the evaluations will be published. The characteristics and references on battery and autonomy will also be indicated, as reported on the occasion.
