Triumph Speed Twin Breitling Limited Edition: aesthetic research and technical refinements [PHOTO]

The result of a collaboration

Triumph Motorcycles e Breitling, in collaboration, have given shape to new exclusive creations: the motorcycle Triumph Speed Twin Breitling Limited Edition and the clock Breitling Triumph Edition Top Time Chronograph.

Attention to detail

Drawing inspiration from motorsport and café racers, Willy Breitling created the Breitling Top Time chronograph around the mid-60s. The conceptual innovation of that product is found in the two editions of the exclusive Top Time Triumph, one of which is reserved for buyers of the Speed Twin Breitling Limited Edition.
The main version features an opalescent and vertically brushed dial. Buyers of the special Speed Twin will also be able to choose to order the watch by August 22th, 2022, being able to receive it personalized with the identification number of the motorbike.
The two variants are characterized by the Ice-Blue color which recalls the polychromatic blue livery already admired on the historic Triumph Thunderbird 6T from 1951 and the chronograph dial Breitling Top Time Ref. 815 made since the 70s. The back of the chronograph case features a faithful sketch of the parallel twin engine of the Triumph Bonneville examples.
The watch is characterized by a leather strap that takes inspiration from the world of competitions and in line with the aesthetics of the dial. The Breitling and Triumph brands are discreetly visible next to the numerals 12 and 6. The controls are oversized to support comfort, and a high-contrast speedometer makes it easier to read the speed indication. This example is equipped with a Breitling Caliber 23 movement, COSC certified, with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours, according to the information.

They are only expected 270 unit worldwide. Each bike is identifiable by a unique serial number located on the triple clamp, as well as having a certificate of authenticity marked by Triumph CEO Nick Bloor and Breitling CEO Georges Kern. 270 examples were designed to recall the connotative ignition scheme of the parallel twin of the Triumph Speed Twin.

Keeping in mind the coloration of the Breitling chronograph, the bike is distinguished by a tint Polychromatic blue which recalls the Triumph Thunderbird 6T, famous with Marlon Brando in the 1953 film "The Wild One". A livery precisely replicated from a paint sample of the original color dating back to the 50s, using innovative tools. Polychromatic Blue is a custom color developed by mixing various shades, finished by hand with a black piping and the Breitling initials. The scheme is completed with details handmade by Gary Devine, one of the artists at the Triumph Paint Shop; a jet black front headlight and side panels are also highlighted. We also note the new Öhlins rear suspension with spring painted in glossy black for this limited edition.
Among the characterizing aspects there is also the Breitling Speed Twin instrumentation with circular graphics on the instrument panel, defined with the style of chronographs in mind.
Also included are special machine-developed parts, quality components such as anodized parts and the clutch lever. The finishes are also embellished with the highlighted Breitling signature.
The seat is in black perforated leather with characterizing details, such as a fine gray stitching, referring to the leather strap of the Breitling chronograph together with a "B" visible on the passenger portion.
