Triumph: Scrambler 1200 XC and Scrambler 1200 XE, same engine but two different souls

Triumph – The two new products from Triumph are called Scrambler 1200 XC and Scrambler 1200 XE. Beyond the classic appearance, these bikes are a concentration of quality that allow the 1200 to set a new standard in terms of performance, technical features and attention to detail, mixed with Triumph's iconic Scrambler DNA and the potential for a motorcycle ready for any type of adventure.

Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and Scrambler 1200 XE: how they are

The 1200 Scrambler XC was built for on-road and off-road riding, while the 1200 Scrambler XE also has a more extreme off-road attitude. Both are equipped with the Bonneville's High Power 1200cc parallel twin engine, but refined for Scrambler use, with 90 horsepower at 7,400 rpm. and an incredible 110 Nm of torque at 3,950 rpm.

The on-board technology is noteworthy and boasts second-generation TFT instruments, six driving modes, including Off-Road Pro on the XE model, cornering ABS and cornering Traction Control optimized on the front DRL), intuitive 5-way joystick blocks, backlit blocks, assisted clutch, Keyless ignition, cruise control, USB charging socket, heated grips as standard on the XE model and ready to be fitted as an option on the XC model. In short, nothing is missing. Furthermore, this is the world's first motorcycle with integrated GoPro Management System as well as the first Triumph with turn-by-turn navigation, phone control and Bluetooth music activated by an optional connectivity module.

The top-of-the-line, long-travel Öhlins rear suspension is fully adjustable as is the Showa front fork. The braking system is made up of a double M50 monobloc radial Brembo caliper, while the frame is dedicated to On-Off use. Additionally there are foldable and adjustable foot controls on the XE model, tangential spokes for tubeless tires. The new 1200 is the first bike in the category with a 21" front wheel, tubeless tires dedicated to adventure. The wheels are Pirelli Scorpion Rally.

The range of the brand new Scrambler 1200 is made up of two versions. Scrambler 1200 XC, built for the road and for off-road fun, and the top of the range Scrambler 1200 off-road, for true scrambler use, which places it at the top of the dual-purpose list and beyond. Both models offer the rider unrelenting torque thanks to the 1200cc Bonneville High Power engine but revised and refined for off-road use.

To give the iconic Scrambler sound, there is a double exhaust with tall brushed aluminum silencers which gives a dark and deep sound to the English twin-cylinder. Both Scrambler 1200s are characterized by a new extension of maintenance intervals, now spaced by 16,000 km. In addition to the already well-known Bonneville clothing collection, Triumph has developed a new line dedicated to the Scrambler 1200, with a selection of t-shirts, checkered glasses and various casual clothes for men and women.
