Triumph, two new café racers will arrive in 2016

They will challenge the BMW R NineT

Triumph – Two new Triumph café racers have been spotted testing near Barcelona.

The look is very similar to that of Thruxton, already present in the current Triumph range, and the spy photos, which appeared on the web this morning, present us with a motorcycle equipped with a brand new parallel twin-cylinder engine 1100 tsp liquid cooled, which should generate about 90 HP, 22 more than the Thruxton's air-cooled 865cc twin engine. This engine will focus heavily on driving torque and elasticity of delivery, fundamental elements for the pleasure of driving on the road. As for the cyclingInstead, we will have an upside down fork, large brakes and larger section tyres.

The two versions of the bike will be one standard model and what is most likely to be the R model, with Ohlins front suspension borrowed directly from the Speed Triple R, twin and adjustable Ohlins S36 shock absorbers, and a Brembo braking system. New models could be called Street tracker or they could revive the name Speed Twin. Both will certainly be equipped with ABS as standard and should go into production by 2016.

Triumph's goal is to compete with what is considered the new queen of maxi-café racers, the BMW R NineT, but with a formula cheaper and less exclusive.
