The Ducati Foundation aims to create excellent training opportunities, enhancing and giving space to the wealth of knowledge and experience of Italian mechanics, aerodynamics and design. The collaboration with the University of Bologna represents an important opportunity to share knowledge with young students and allows them to study new technologies, in a field familiar to the company such as that of competitions.

The MotoStudent project is based on the development of a motorcycle with an electric propulsion, allowing young people to practice this type of technology with the support of Ducati experts. These businesses fall within the Motor Valley's large metropolitan and regional network. The University of Bologna and Ducati were among the first promoters of MUNER, the Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna with seven international and inter-university engineering degree courses, as mentioned.

La MotoStudent International Competition involves the development of a prototype by university students. Success is not only linked to speed on the track, but also to design, innovative and economic-financial aspects.
Once the prototype was defined, from 15 to 18 July the teams arrived at the Motorland of Aragon for dynamic tests referring to aspects such as acceleration, agility and braking capacity. The competition ended with free practice, qualifying and the race, completing 6 laps for a total of approximately 30 km, during which to test the reliability and capacity of the bikes in electric mode.

the prototype Minerva GN it is an evolution of the first electric example developed by the team for the 2018 competition. The motorbike is based on an electric motor of 30 kW supplied by the Federation, together with tires and braking system. The total weight is about 125 kg. The remaining components, considering aerodynamics, wiring, chassis, dashboard, inverter, battery pack, engine control system and cooling system, were developed entirely by the students with the support of industrial companies in the Motor Valley and supported by Ducati engineers.
