Sym NH Xcion 125: naked with a compact heart and the right liveliness [ROAD TEST]

Interesting character for those starting to travel on two wheels. A good basis for testing the dynamic qualities of a motorbike, with adequate, composed power combined with a modern look that offers a certain sportiness. Sym NH Scion 125 it can be an appreciable alternative in the panorama of small naked bikes, also considering the same relationship between proposal and price.

Equipment and design

The appearance recalls, as mentioned, the highest category sports naked bikes. Proposed in colors White/AnThracite Dark gray matt/Black that wrap the hulls, the NH Xcion it features handlebars adequately located in relation to the saddle and footrests, and digital instrumentation LCD facing the user and enriched with a door USB in the central part to power mobile devices and battery voltage indicator, then a double type headlight LED .

Motorcycles and cycling

The cycling of NH Xcion signed by Sym rests on front and rear wheels 17 inches with tires in size 110/70 e 130/70 linked to a telescopic front fork and an adjustable monoshock in the rear area. The braking system is based on the presence of a combined CBS system which acts on the discs 260 mm on the front and from 222 mm on the back.
It is animated by a thruster single cylinder four-stroke, two-valve air-cooled, one-cylinder unit 124.1 cc which offers little more than 10 horses a 8.500 laps, or 7.5 kW of power. The traction is transmitted through a chain. The maximum torque amounts to 9,5 Nm a 6.500 laps per minute, always taking the values ​​provided by the manufacturer. The compact engine is therefore combined with a five-speed transmission, which appeared convincing in every driving phase. The tank holds 11 litres.

The thrust is adequate, at times proactive, evaluating the agility of a vehicle that barely weighs when dry 143 kg, but never completely bubbly. The gear indicator on the display is also functional. A manageable vehicle in essence, which offers room for learning for those approaching the panorama of two wheels. The aforementioned agility is tantalizing, also considering the slim and streamlined style, which recalls streamlined and sporty naked bikes. Composed and streamlined in city traffic, it shows a bit of trouble only if you expect too much from the engine and chassis. Generally convincing in its urban and metropolitan dimension.
