Aggressive look to not go unnoticed

As soon as we picked up the scooter in question, we were favorably impressed by the idea of ​​solidity that it conveyed to us. The vehicle being tested is in a beautiful color called Blue (the other two available are White and Black Matt). The point of blue, in fact, that was chosen is very beautiful and goes very well with the black of most of the construction parts and the silver of some inserts, including the Jet 14 writings which make a fine display on the sides of the hulls. The double front headlight with LED lights makes you think you have an even larger scooter in your hands, but the main feature of the Jet 14, as well as practicality, is its essentiality. The vehicle is simple, clean, without too many frills, which from certain points of view is absolutely an advantage. Some finishes (the passenger footrests, for example, or the exhaust line) could be revised and improved, but nothing that would affect the driveability.

Jet by name, but always ready at the traffic lights

Don't be fooled by the name. Jet 14 is a Jet only in words also because the regulations do not leave much room for maneuver for engineers. The engine is a 4 CC single-cylinder 124.65-stroke, water-cooled, capable of delivering a power of 10 HP at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.2 Nm/7000 rpm, quick and quite ready to respond when the throttle knob is turned . In extra-urban areas you can reach interesting speeds which allow you to cover even medium length routes without excessive worries even when overtaking. Its ideal terrain, in our opinion, however, is the city: at the traffic lights it is ready, brilliant, but as we said at the beginning the driving is never too demanding, a characteristic that will certainly be appreciated by female customers or by those who come for the first time in the world of scooters.

Excellent driving position, but the suspension could be improved

The idea of ​​being on board a maxi scooter that you have at first glance is abandoned when you get on board. From this position, in fact, you can appreciate the sleek lines and the essentiality of the controls. Everything is under control and at your fingertips. The instrumentation is the right mix of analogue and digital and provides all the information you need in daily use: speed, engine rpm, fuel level (the tank has a capacity of 7,5 litres), total kilometers travelled. and partial. The distribution is single shaft, the seat height is 800mm and the weight is quite low (128 kg dry). The Jet 14 is fitted with a Tubeless front tire measuring 100/90-14, while at the rear a Tubeless 110/80-14. The braking system is made up of a 260 mm diameter disc at the front, which acts with the CBS combined braking system, together with the rear disc. We remind you that there are 2 versions of the Jet 125, this one with a liquid-cooled engine and a second with air, which also differs in the rear drum brake. The riding potion is correct. A man of average height can stay on board for a long time without ever tiring his arms and legs which have plenty of space available on the front footboard which can easily accommodate a generously sized backpack, a bag or a gym bag (the hook central is robust and safe). Despite the absence of a real peephole, the shoulders are quite protected and only at the highest speeds are some small turbulences felt. Nothing, fortunately, that disturbs driving. The suspensions are a little stiff and this affects the comfort of the passenger, who is a little stressed when encountering, for example, a pothole or a bump. However, the seat is comfortable, the well-padded saddle and the rear handles allow a firm grip. The underseat contains only one full-face helmet because the space must be shared with the petrol tank.

It's done in two, with an attractive price and generous fuel tank

The company declares a consumption of 2,5 liters every 100 km in a mixed cycle, values ​​very close to reality and which only increase with assiduous use on extra-urban state roads at high speeds (unfortunately 125s cannot access the ring road), when the engine he is forced to work at high speeds. The tank capacity (7,5 litres) allows good autonomy and few stops at the petrol station. The price is 2.350 euros, very competitive in relation to the competition and for the construction quality of a scooter which, in daily use, is certainly appreciated. Remember that you can also drive with only a B license, the car license. And the air-cooled one? The Jet 14 125 is listed in two variants, both with the same price, but which differ by 250 thanks to the promotion which lowers the entry threshold to 2.100 for the version with air-cooled engine and rear drum brake.
