La Suzuki V Strom 800DE is the protagonist in the film proposed by Suzuki Moto Italy on Youtube. The motorcycle is ridden on the road and beyond the asphalt.

A versatile specimen

The aesthetics of the new Sports Enduro Tourer makes the model recognisable, starting from the design of the front area with the connotative overlapping setting of the LED headlights. There is also a three-position adjustable windscreen. A control bridge houses the instrumentation visible on a multifunction TFT LCD color screen, furthermore the motorbike is equipped with a variable section handlebar with which to define an optimized triangulation together with the saddle characterized by substantial padding to support the rider's comfort and also that of the passenger and the rubber-coated footrests. There are also integrated handles with a sturdy luggage rack supplied as standard.

Three colors combined with the model: Yellow Petra, Berlin grey e Black Dubai. For the Italian market, standard equipment is provided which includes hand guards, a rigid plastic tip for the engine and a protective grille for the radiator. For customization, based on needs, you can consult a catalog of original accessories.
As the Suzuki GSX-8S, another novelty from the brand for 2023, the V-Strom 800DE has also taken shape around a new technical platform animated by a new 776 cc parallel twin engine. This heart is managed in an integrated manner with the on-board electronics from Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), recalling:

– the “Aprisereno” system – Suzuki Traction Control System adjustable on three levels and deactivated, the ride-by-wire accelerator;
– the “Cambiarapido” system – Bi-directional Quick Shift System;
– the “Scegliiltiro” system – Suzuki Drive Mode Selector – with three driving modes;
– the Suzuki Easy Start System and “Partifacile” – Low RPM Assist devices

On the V-Strom 800DE, the electronic traction control includes a specific mode G (Gravel), added to the three standard ones, to allow the rear wheel to slip during acceleration at different levels. An ABS system is also highlighted to select two operating logics and possibly exclude the anti-lock function on the rear wheel.
The frame is made of steel tubes associated with Hitachi Astemo (Showa) suspensions with an excursion of 220 millimetres, manageable in the hydraulic brake and in the spring preload, in compression and in rebound. The preload of the monoshock can be changed using a knob.
The bike's wheels are spoked, the front one is 21 inches wearing a 90/90 tyre, then the rear is 17 inches with a 150/70 tyre.

A new engine

The newly developed powertrain is compact with functional structural features to propel a new family of models. As mentioned, this is 776cc parallel twin which features a DOHC twin-shaft distribution with four valves per cylinder and also features a 270° crank mechanism. To contain vibrations, a patented Suzuki Cross Balancer system was defined with the action of two rocker arms, positioned at 90° with respect to the crankshaft. The propulsive heart is combined with a six-speed gearbox with different ratios compared to the new Suzuki GSX-8S and the clutch is assisted with an anti-hopping system.
In compliance with the Euro 5 regulation, the power hits the mark 84,3 horses (62 kW) at 8.500 rpm and the torque reaches a value of 78 Nm at 6.800 rpm.
