Suzuki: the development strategy until 2030 in the two-wheel sectorSuzuki: the development strategy until 2030 in the two-wheel sector

Suzuki announced the planning of its development strategy for the year 2030 and, speaking of Motorcycle Division, the Japanese brand will introduce an engine EV in 2024 for everyday motorcycles.

The strategy

The aforementioned planning is based on three factors:

– the production principle “Sho-Sho-Kei-Tan-Bi (more compact, less numerous, lighter, more contained, more orderly)”;
– “Lean Management”, considering flexibility, agility and a spirit of challenge;
– the principle of the “Three Realities”, leaving aside impracticability to consider place, thing and real situation.

In imagining production in 2030, the brand promotes the “Suzuki Smart Factory Creation”, combining the Suzuki production principle “Sho-Sho-Kei-Tan-Bi (more compact, fewer, lighter, more contained, more tidy)” with digitalisation.

The aim is for a leaner dimension to achieve neutrality of carbon dioxide emissions. At the Hamamatsu plant where the production of motorcycles is based, through a more limited use of energy and a conversion into renewable energy, in addition to the expansion of the solar energy production systems, the aim is already to achieve neutrality of emissions of carbon in fiscal year 2027, bringing forward the initial deadline of 2030.
Suzuki will extend the knowledge gained at the Hamamatsu plant to its other manufacturing facilities to achieve carbon neutrality at all domestic plants in fiscal 2035.
Given the date set by each government, Suzuki is aimed at achieving carbon neutrality in Japan and Europe by 2050 and in India by 2070.

A continuous commitment to achieve the set objectives relating to carbon neutrality for each region, which is based on the choice to broaden the proposal and introduce products and services that meet the needs in each country where Suzuki models appear.
The brand will propose a EV motorization in the year 2024, as mentioned, also plans the launch of 8 models by the year 2030 with a percentage of EV engines of 25%.
