Suzuki RM-Z450 2015 has racing in its blood

An all new model, racing DNA between technology and lightness

Increasingly specialized and increasingly innovative, it is the 2015 model year of the Suzuki RM-Z450; a renewal that smells very much like a completely new model. The 2015 version derives directly from the models currently used in Motocross competitions by riders Clemente Desalle, Kevin Strijbos and James Stewart in the MXGP, AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross Championships categories.

Among the most anticipated innovations introduced on the 2015 version of the RM-Z450, the revolutionary "Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control” (S-HAC), and the new Showa SFF-AIR fork. We can see immediately what these picturesque acronyms mean.

The “Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control” system helps the rider to be faster at the start. It is implemented thanks to two different modes of use. On hard surfaces or in slippery conditions at the starting gate, the mode will be used “A-Mode”: In this setting, S-HAC alters ignition timing to reduce wheel slip and to provide smooth acceleration; then, after just over a second (or when you put third gear), the system returns to normal ignition timing. When ground conditions provide better traction and a more aggressive start is needed, the mode is chosen “B-Mode”: in this case, the ignition times are brought forward to allow greater accelerator response. It is possible to deactivate the Holeshot Assist System at any time and the start will depend solely on the driver's handle.

The 49 mm Showa SFF-AIR (separate chamber) fork is a shock-absorbing unit featuring a coil spring in one leg and a hydraulic shock absorber in the other. Advantages? The thelightness and also the absence of adjustments to be carried out based on the weight of the pilots or skill level. Fine-tuning is now done via three separate valves: an air pressure valve on the inside, one on the outside on the top of the fork and a pressure valve positioned on the lower fork.
But the new RM-Z450 also features a redesigned frame to optimize rigidity and reduce weight. To improve engine starting, the kickstarter pedal is now longer Decompression system has been redesigned, revised gear ratio and added a bleed gear to improve engine starting.

Improved cooling: Water hoses have been revised, along with a redesigned water pump cover for more efficient cooling. The gear shifting is smoother: Gear shifting precision is increased, along with a revised shift cam for more precise and smooth operation.
