Suzuki is preparing for the numerous challenges of 2013 by presenting two new cross bike models to the international markets, the RM-Z450 e RM-Z250.

These are the result of a direct involvement in continuous development promoted by the Japanese company involved on both fronts of the world category championships:

  • FIM World MX1, with champion Clement Desalle of Team Suzuki Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1, current championship leader, and Estonian rider Tanel Leok also well classified;
  • He loves Motocross where with champion James Stewart of Team Yohshimura and Team Rockstar Energy in the AMA 250 cc championship they are experiencing a season as protagonists.

The new RM-Zs are therefore a direct spin-off of the skills and experience of Suzuki technicians gained over these years of racing in world competitions. Specifically, Suzuki has renewed these models with installing new pistons, A new power on a new gearbox transmission it's one completely revised suspension scheme. The new RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 are thus able to unleash their great power while remaining very stable and precise in all riding conditions.

The main changes related to the engine, thanks to an electronic injection fuel system developed by Suzuki, have made it possible to obtain better acceleration, excellent throttle response and very smooth delivery at medium and high rpm. Furthermore, thanks to an innovative assembly of the connecting rod and crankpins, defined Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC), it was possible to reduce power losses caused by friction, thus increasing performance. The engine is also supported by the presence of a new more powerful generator and onecultural, 5 speed now even more fluid and precise.

The design and construction method of the frame of both models has been revised, revisiting the sections of the frame beams with the result of having improved flexibility, maintaining the proverbial solidity of the aluminum frame.

The most substantial change concerns above all the suspensions, with the new Showa Separate Function Forks (SFF), with 48 mm diameter legs, characterized by the system of separation of functions between springing (right leg) and hydraulic brake (left leg). The fork is adjustable in preload and allows various types of customization of the front, while at the rear a mono has been fitted, revised down to the smallest detail, which adapts perfectly to the new characteristics of the engine, offering better traction when exiting corners.

Ultimately, the new RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 have been designed to offer power management now usable by a wider range of motorcyclists, greater reliability, despite the reduction in overall weight, greater possibility of customization by the user , without forgetting the ease of maintenance. All these elements, inherited from the experience with the prestigious Suzuki teams, allow you to create the right mix of power and technique.
