The new Suzuki hayabusa it is a high performance example.

The motorcycle

Accompanied by Enrico Bessolo, motorcycle sales director of Suzuki Italia, the different characteristics of the model are highlighted.
The aerodynamic design, especially in the front area, recalls the profile of a "peregrine falcon", the translation of the name in Japanese. Streamlined features with a raised tail that seems to announce the shot. In the sharp front area there is an elongated Multi-LED headlight unit flanked by position lights which include the directional indicators. Also distinctive are the thin rear-view mirrors, the silencers weighing less than 2 kg compared to the previous ones, the chromatic shades and the new seven-spoke wheels.
The rider seems integrated into the shape of the vehicle, considering the handlebars set back 12 millimeters and a saddle placed at a height of 800 mm, according to information.

Technical and technological aspects

The example is equipped with a lightweight double-spar frame and an aluminum swingarm, made by alternating extruded components with others made by casting. There is also a seat support frame whose weight is limited to 700 grams. There is a 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear.
The setup of the instrumentation is also peculiar. A new one stands out TFT LCD display between large analog gauges of the tachometer and speedometer and various warning lights. The screen shows the current settings of the SDMS-α system or the Active Data display including longitudinal acceleration, degree of throttle opening, lean angle and pressure applied to the front and rear brakes.
The motorbike is equipped with a speed limiter, the “Fissaillimite” (Active Speed Limiter) system allows you to set a speed limit avoiding the risk of going beyond what is established. A solution also used in MotoGP during the return to the pits.
Also listed are a Cruise Control System and other solutions such as “Discesanostoppie” (Slope Dependent Control System), “Frenainplica” (Motion Track Brake System), “Partiarazzo” (Launch Control System – 3 levels), “Segnalainchiodata” (Emergency Stop Signal ) and “Spuntofacile” (Hill Hold Control System).
Also noteworthy is the optimization of the calibration of the 43 mm KYB upside-down fork and also that of the KYB rear shock absorber, based on overall stability. Both adjustable solutions. The braking system includes four-piston Brembo Stylema® front calipers with 320 mm discs, with a Combined Brake System. Battlax Hypersport S22 tires are also highlighted. Suzuki collaborated with Bridgestone to define these tires designed for the model.
A six-axis inertial platform also appears in the electronic overview. The Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α) allows a choice between three set driving modes and another three customizable ones, with automatic variation of the operating logic of five listed systems: Traction Control (Motion Track Traction Control System – 10 levels + off ); “Manage power” function (Power Mode Selector – 3 levels); Bidirectional Quick Shift System (Bidirectional Quick Shift System – 2 levels + off); “Giùlaruota” anti-wheelie system (Anti Lift Control System – 10 levels + off); “Engine Brake Control System” (3 levels + off).

Powerful engine

The new sports car is powered by a liquid-cooled, four-cylinder in-line engine 1.340 cc. The interventions on the drive unit have improved its performance and efficiency, according to the indications. Bearing in mind the Euro 5 standard, an exhaust system is highlighted which is equipped with a new compensation duct between the manifolds, also contributing to the thrust expressed at low and medium revs.
The maximum power is 190 horses (140 kW) at 9.700 rpm, with a torque of 150 Nm at 7.000 rpm. A self-limited top speed of 299 km/h was achieved.
