Suzuki GSX-S1000: a new sports naked with sleek design [PHOTO AND VIDEO]

An evolutionary renewal six years after the first generation. The new gritty one Suzuki GSX-S1000, present in the street-fighter segment, is characterized by a sculpted design and is equipped with an approved heart Euro 5.

Technology

The riding position has been refined, redefined by considering a wider handlebar 23 millimeters with slightly raised ends, closer to the saddle surface by 20 mm. Also this mail to 810 mm it has been reshaped to favor support in the rear area and a more upright posture for control and riding comfort, also taking into account a lever arm designed to take into account maneuvers when stationary or at low speeds.
The frame remains a double aluminum beam with a steering head connected to the swingarm pivot, taking up a concept from the GSX-R1000. A functional approach in the face of lightness and stiffness, therefore the suspension is adjustable in spring preload and hydraulics with an unprecedented calibration, in light of the new Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 radial tires created for the GSX-S1000 and combined with aluminum rims with a sporty six-spoke design. The KYB upside down fork is the result of 43 mm, while behind there is a mono-shock absorber operated by a lever. The braking system with ABS includes Brembo monobloc four-piston front brake calipers associated with two floating discs of 310 mm, while in the area behind there is only one disc.

Technology

The motorcycle is equipped with an instrument panel full LCD and specific graphics appear on the display highlighted by a blue backlight. Among the aspects highlighted also the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) with several advanced electronic systems, allowing the pilot to exploit the potential of the model. A confidence also linked to the ride-by-wire electronic accelerator control and the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), opting between three maps (Active, Basic and Comfort) with different power delivery and response characteristics depending on the style. There are five settings provided for the new one Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS), making the intervention of the system which limits slippage of the rear wheel more responsive and proactive. Traction control can possibly be deactivated like the new system “Cambiarapido” – Bi-directional Quick Shift System, through which it is possible to switch to a higher or lower gear without acting on the clutch, as indicated. The GSX-S1000 also features solutions as standard that facilitate starting and starting Suzuki Easy Start e Low RPM assist.

Motor

The new GSX-S1000 is associated with an advanced Suzuki engine 999 cc with advanced solutions designed for sporting use adapted for road use. The four-cylinder is Euro 5 approved and offers a more consistent output. We note interventions on the camshaft profile, air filter box and exhaust system. The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) adds an assistance function to the slipper clutch of the previous example, supporting the operation of the lever. The transmitted power reaches 152 horses at 11.000 rpm with a torque peak of 106 Nm at 9.250 rpm.

Proposal and GSX-S1000 Première Show

Initial deliveries are scheduled for June, but in the meantime it will be possible to admire the bike during the stages of GSX-S1000 Première Show, a roadshow made up of 17 exclusive events at as many dealers in the Suzuki network, as reported.
In each there is a dedicated area in the salon with staff who will illustrate every aspect of the naked, answering any questions. The GSX-S1000 Première Show calendar can be consulted in the events section on the portal connected to the brand's motorcycle division. A list price of 13.190 euros is indicated.
