A powerful and technological concept with an aesthetic that recalls the Suzuki driven by world champion riders in the premier class of the world championship. We remember the triumphs achieved by champions such as Sheene, Lucchinelli, Uncini, Schwantz, Roberts Jr., up to the most recent one of Mir, listing the exclusive liveries connected to the GSX-R1000R Legend Edition. Seven references to Suzuki's sporting history.

Iconic sportswear

The limited edition features two accessories that underline its sportiness. Of note are a single-seat cover in the same color and an approved Akrapovič silencer.
Each variant is recognizable by the peculiar color scheme that envelops the bold shapes of the GSX-R1000R. As mentioned, seven variants are listed.
Remembering Barry Sheene's titles in 1976 and 1977, a first look of the GSX-R1000R Legend Edition recalls the RG500 with which the English rider won the first world championship seal for Suzuki in the 500 Class. They are the colors of Team Heron – Texaco and are also noticeable number 7 in the sample. The white and red colors are highlighted, divided by a two-tone black and yellow stripe, with a large yellow S still on the tank.

The one of Sheene's next success, on an advanced Suzuki RG500, still features the colors of Team Heron -Texaco but large black Suzuki writings can be seen and the yellow gains more space on the superstructures. The number seven stands out again and Sheene remained fond of it.

The third variant of the GSX-R1000R Legend Edition recalls Marco Lucchinelli's success in the 500 Class in 1981. The Team Gallina colors are composed of a dark blue on the upper and lower areas together with a white central section. There are also hints of red, the lucky star and the yellow table with the number 5.

The subsequent guise is still connected to Team Gallina but to Franco Uncini's new world success on RG500 in 1982. This version of the GSX-R1000R Legend Edition is mainly dressed in light blue, enlivened on the fairing, part of the tank and tail by a colorful band that varies from white to dark blue and also light blue. The number 13 appears on the yellow tables.

The livery recalls Kevin Schwantz's success in 1993 and the RGV-Γ 500 driven by the Texan features a color scheme that recalls the sponsor of that season. A theme that includes the colors white and red, as well as an army green and a black. The brand does not appear as on the original competition example, but the number 34 stands out.

The sixth characterization of the GSX-R1000R Legend Edition refers to the RGV-Γ 500 driven by Kenny Roberts Jr. in 2000, consisting of a bright blue livery and a distinctive yellow checkered design. You can see a generous yellow band on the sides of the fairing, while the number 2 appears above the front light and on the sides of the tail.

Finally, remembering the world title won this season by Joan Mir, Suzuki Italia has created the seventh GSX-R1000R Legend Edition recalling the Anniversary livery of the GSX-RR of Team Ecstar to which the number 1 is associated. A combination of blue and slate silver, recalling Suzuki's 60th anniversary since its debut in the world championship and the 100th since its foundation, with some golden details similar to those selected by the Mallorcan rider. A different livery than that of the Anniversary variant launched during 2020, as mentioned.

The motorcycle

The Suzuki GSX-R1000R is a sporting specimen. The maximum power is 202 horsepower, while the peak torque is 118 Nm. Technically we note a Showa BFF fork as well as a special slot in the frame, depending on the set-up setting. Also noteworthy is a package of electronic devices, including electronic traction control adjustable to 10 levels, launch control, ABS with cornering function and bidirectional quickshifter with auto-blipper.

Proposal

Available on the web store and can only be ordered online, the GSX-R1000R Legend Edition is sold at a price of 22.500 euros ex-dealership including VAT, according to the information.
