Suzuki GSX-R, for the new model we will have to wait at least until 2017
It is a great success for the Japanese brand
Suzuki GSX-R – If there is one range of bikes that seems overdue for an update it is certainly Suzuki's GSX-R. But even though there has been a lot of speculation about its possible updates, the latest rumors say that we will have to wait a little longer before we see them. In fact, some documents filed with the California Air Research Board (CARB) would have seen all three existing Suzuki GSX-R models homologated for another year, demonstrating that at least the engines will remain unchanged in 2016.
The implication is that we won't see a replacement for the Suzuki GSX-R1000, of the 600 or 750, at least not before the possible 2017 model year. Although this would normally mean waiting another full year, but a recent trend of manufacturers in releasing new models "early" should allow the new 1000 Suzuki GSX-R2017 to be able to arrive on the scene before its official debut, which obviously would be 2017. Suzuki did the same thing with the V-Power 1000 revealing the 2014 model at the end of 2012. However, it is also said that the replacement of the Suzuki GSX-R1000 could be further away than you might imagine. In fact, the only change to the GSX-R1000 2015 was the addition ofOptional ABS, something that all bikes over 125cc will need if they are sold in Europe after January 1, 2017. If the all-new Suzuki GSX-R1000 arrives by then, ABS development for the current model might seem, so , an unnecessary expense.
The fact that ABS has been added could be a clue that the Suzuki GSX-R existing should still be available, at least, until early 2017. The remarkable longevity of the Suzuki GSX-R it is still having a good side effect. Its development costs have, in fact, already been amortized and therefore we are talking about a notable deal for the Japanese brand.
