Suzuki GSX-R 1000 2017The new one until March 23rd Suzuki GSX-R 1000 2017 will be the protagonist of a series of exclusive events in Suzuki dealerships. A great opportunity for enthusiasts to see Hamamatsu's new super sports car up close and learn about the smallest details in detail.

“The King of Sportbikes is back” and to celebrate the return of the GSX-R 1000 to the top of the super sports segment, Suzuki has decided to draw up a packed calendar of initiatives that will involve motorcyclists from all over Italy. In fact, days and evenings dedicated to the GSX-R 1000 will be organized within the dealer network, in which the Suzuki Italia staff will also be present to give all the information on the equipment and characteristics of the motorbike.

Over 20 events open to all

The first two events of the VIP Night and VIP Day GSX-R 1000 program took place last weekend in Gavi, in the province of Alessandria, and in Castellanza, in the province of Varese. Now the initiative will continue, touching many of the main Italian cities. The scheduled dates cover a large part of Italy, the last of which is scheduled for Turin on March 23rd. The detailed and complete list can be found on the Suzuki website (VIP Night), where the contacts of the various dealers are also indicated, useful for knowing times and methods of the relevant events.

At each event, the bike will be displayed next to the previous model, to allow a direct comparison and to better appreciate the enormous progress made. The Suzuki Italia staff will always be present to illustrate the features and technological refinements of both the GSX-R 1000 and its even more racing version, the GSX-R1000R.

The technique without secrets

Both versions are described in detail in the catalogs that all participants in the VIP Days and VIP Nights will be able to download via a QR code, which will be given to them during the events. However, it will always be possible to ask questions and learn more, for example to learn about every aspect relating to the engine and electronic systems, which make the GSX-R 1000 the new point of reference in the category.

Powering it is a new Euro 4 four-cylinder with a power of 202 hp and a torque of 117,6 Nm. In compliance with the Suzuki philosophy, these peaks are achieved without sacrificing delivery at low and medium speeds, thanks to solutions exclusives, such as the distribution with variable valve timing of the SR-VVT (Suzuki Racing-Variable Valve Timing). The system, derived directly from MotoGP, varies the valve lift simply and effectively and adapts the timing to the different speeds. In this way it optimizes engine performance throughout the entire range of use: the elasticity in recovery is exceptional and the progression culminates in an imperious extension. The double S-TFI injectors (Suzuki-Top Feed Injector) and the new SET-A exhaust valves (Suzuki Exhaust Tuning-Alpha) also make a decisive contribution to making the delivery always full and full-bodied.

The rider can also select three driving modes while driving via the #suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS). All are full power but, to adapt to different styles and grip conditions, offer different responses to the ride-by-wire accelerator. The latter also interacts with the Motion Track TCS (Traction Control System), adjustable on 10 intervention levels and managed in an integrated manner by the ECU based on the data collected by the inertial platform, which monitors the movements of the motorbike in the six directions of the three spatial axes. ABS is standard and, in the case of the GSX-R1000R, it is also equipped with the cornering function, which modulates braking when cornering taking into account the inclination. The R is also equipped with Launch Control, which provides assistance for lightning-fast starts, and bidirectional Quick Shift, for very rapid gear changes and downshifts without the need to use the clutch. Thanks to all these technologies, the motorbike provides exhilarating performance on the track, whilst remaining undemanding, as well as easy and well exploitable for road use. And two other exclusive devices have been designed specifically for everyday driving: the Low RPM Assist, which limits the lowering of the revs when the clutch is released, and the Suzuki Easy Start System, which starts the engine with minimal pressing the start button.

The Suzuki GSX-R 1000 2017 has a list price of Euro 16.590 FC and is offered in two colors: Blue GP, with the graphics of the official MotoGP team, and Black Mat, with wheels and decorations in Red Mat. The GSX-R1000R will arrive in May at Euro 18.990 FC and will in turn be available in two colours: GP Blue and Glossy Black with blue stickers.
