Suomy Apex, design and comfort at the service of safety

Suomy has released Apex, its new helmet that wants to combine a sporty design with maximum safety and comfort. Apex was made using a new composite material which not only gives the helmet considerable rigidity, but at the same time significantly lowers its overall weight.

From an external point of view, "attractive" ribs have been introduced to convey air flows from the front to the rear part of the helmet. They prevent annoying aerodynamic shaking and contribute to the internal silence of the helmet itself. Furthermore, the new spoiler moves the "aerodynamic flow detachment" point away from the shell. Inside, however, thanks to the chin guard air intake and the upper air intake, Apex ensures notable ventilation and internal comfort.

The adjustable air intake, located on the chin guard, ventilates the front/bottom part of the helmet. It is activated, in the fully open or fully closed position, via a convenient and practical snap lever; Due to its ergonomics, it can also be activated when gloves are worn. The new polycarbonate rear spoiler was tested and studied together with the entire Apex project, in the wind tunnel. Its shape allows the point of detachment of the aerodynamic flow to be translated as far as possible. The further the point is from the shell, the less turbulence will be generated by the penetration of the helmet into the air flow. This translates into less turbulence and therefore vibrations on the helmet itself. By taking advantage of the Venturi effect and the particular shape of the internal protective polystyrene, the incoming flow can easily be discharged thanks to the rear air intakes.
