Skoda, at the Geneva International Motor Show which is taking place these days, presented an electric concept for micro-mobility: the Klemet.

It is a mix between an E-bike and an electric scooter. It is equipped with a 4 kW motor integrated into the rear hub capable of taking it up to 45 km/h. The two lithium batteries, each with 52 cells, have a total capacity of 1.250 Wh and ensure a maximum range of 62 km. The great innovation lies in the control of the accelerator and brake sensitive to the inclination of the pedals, essentially they work like a hoverboard, i.e. by tilting the pedals forwards or backwards. If the weight is concentrated on the front part of the pedal, the Klement engine accelerates, while if the weight is concentrated on the rear part, the front hydraulic braking system equipped with ABS is activated, as is the regenerative braking. The frame is made of aluminium. The concept has no visible levers or cables and the footrests on which to rest your feet are fixed and positioned where e-bikes usually have pedals.

Guido Haak, Head of Product Management at Škoda auto, says: “Micromobility is becoming increasingly important in cities. By presenting KLEMENT at the Geneva International Motor Show, we show our perspective on the future: sustainable, innovative, electric and modern in design. KLEMENT is a cutting-edge, dynamic and easy-to-use vehicle and allows the Brand to speak to younger and more environmentally friendly customers. The concept is perfectly aligned with our eMobility Strategy. We are therefore evaluating whether and how this exciting mobility concept can be added to our portfolio in the future."
