Driven more than 2.500 km in 48 consecutive hours

Riding the same electric scooter SEAT MÓ 125 Performance have been signed two Guinness World Records™ in 48 hours on the international route of Zuera, near Zaragoza, Spain. An important result at the end of a year of development and testing, also including the preparation to reach this milestone.

The news

Il SEAT MÓ team faced this challenge obtaining an outcome of international scope. It is not easy to obtain a record considering the rigor of the Guinness World Records™ regulations. Two records in the space of 48 hours represents an even more interesting outcome, achieved with a preparation phase, team work and an optimal set-up of the vehicle which features sophisticated components defined in collaboration with Öhlins, Andreani, Shad, Galfer, Blunik.

The new SEAT MÓ 125 Performance will be revealed to the public of enthusiasts on the occasion of EICMA, the International Two-Wheel Exhibition scheduled at Rho Fiera Milano between 8 and 13 November 2022. Compared to traditional roads, the curves of a circuit were chosen to test performance and demonstrate the qualities of this vehicle, in one of the most demanding endurance tests. Overall, we drove for two days in a row in order to verify how many kilometers the electric scooter could cover each day, in two different types of tests, both driven by a team and conducted individually. In total they were traveled 2.588 kilometers in 48 hours, roughly the straight line distance between Barcelona in Spain and Helsinki in Finland.

The SEAT MÓ team led by Quim Guitiérrez, Quality Manager of SEAT MÓ and Dani García, Micromobility Chief Technical Officer, aimed to underline the level reached by the electric scooter, confirmed by world records. Camouflaged so as not to reveal its shape until its presentation at EICMA, the new eScooter made it possible to set a new record in the space of 24 hours, covering 1.430 kilometers in the team test. A result more than double that of the previous record. Five expert pilots took turns in a relay featuring a change with each battery change, approximately every 50 minutes. The team included Ivo Viscasillas, collaborator of the Complete Vehicle department of the Research and Development area of SEAT SA, the journalist Judit Florensa and the pilots Cristian Marín, Miquel Viñola and Jordi Gené, engaged on this special occasion on a two-wheeled vehicle and not a racing car. In the following 24 hours, the protagonist was the Italian journalist Valerio Boni, who drove the same electric scooter alone for 1.158 kilometers, with short stops to change the battery just over every hour and some occasional 40-minute breaks, establishing the second record .
