Scorpion Sports Exo 520 Air and Exo 520 Smart Air: a new sporty and technological GT helmet [PHOTO]

The new helmet Scorpion Sports Exo 520 Air it is recognizable by its advanced aerodynamic design with front air intakes and integrated rear spoiler, functional for ventilation. An example which in the Smart version includes a new Exo-Com intercom.

The specialised farming model

The shell was developed in latest generation advanced polycarbonate components, while the interior is in fabric KwikWick2®, soft and breathable, with an inflatable cushion system AirFit® functional for adhering to the face and an internal sun visor Speedview® with anti-fog treatment on the sides.
An external visor with lens is also highlighted Pinlock® MaxVision 3D which can be locked in the closed, open or partially open position, therefore an adjustable micrometric closure.

We report a weight in size M of 1590 g (+/- 50 g). It is offered in eight different sizes that vary from XXS to the XXXL, keeping in mind three sizes for the outer shell: “Small” from XXS only on specific colors to M; “Medium” in size (L) and “Large” from XL to XXXL, the latter always in specific colours.

Returning to some aspects, the Pinlock® system integrated into the visor in the 100% Max Vision 3D version defines a watertight air chamber that prevents the formation of condensation and fogging, as reported. Then the mechanism Ellip-Tec™ II Ratchet System visor allows you to replace this component without using tools, considering even stronger springs for an airtight and silent tightening along the gasket, as well as being resistant in the event of a fall.

Technical and technological aspects

The ventilation system consists of front air vents and rear extractors, the KwikFit™ internal cushions allow you to insert and remove the most used glasses models and a system is also indicated ERS (Emergency Release System) for rapid removal of cushions in emergency situations. Already in the standard version and not the reported Smart one, the Exo 520 Air helmet is still designed to accommodate the new Exo-Com intercom by Scorpion Sports. A solution present as standard on the Smart model and integrated into the new helmets of the 2021 collection, this and the Exo 930 already present in the Smart version.

A compact system, measuring 80x35x15 mm and weighing just 78 g, designed to resist water with IPX5 certified characteristics, guaranteed for 2 years.
Arrived from the synergy between the technicians of Scorpion Sports and uCLEAR, considering "BassBoost" and adjustable equalizer via the dedicated App, the system with double microphone and electronic filters allows a reduction of noise and interference, according to the indications. Also reported is a multitasking system capable of managing listening and sharing music in a group and talking with your companions and receiving information from the GPS system.

The autonomy is fifteen hours, compared to a complete recharge of the batteries which takes from 2 hours and 30 minutes to 3 hours and 30 minutes. A range of over 800 meters is indicated between the pilots who communicate and the Bluetooth 5.0 technology allows you to put different devices in contact simultaneously, while the modular Dynamesh communication network allows you to communicate at the same time with four interlocutors without interruptions, connected via Bluetooth earphones and with automatic management during the trip. The Exo-Com intercom can also be installed using a universal mounting kit on Exo-S1, Exo-HX1 and Exo-Tech Carbon models and can also be integrated on other models with some modifications.
