Scorpion Exo: four new models to confirm record growth

Scorpion Exo – After a year of great growth (even +15% with 32.500 helmets sold in the commercial year) Scorpion Exo relaunches the challenge in the helmet sector by launching four new models: Scorpion Exo R1 Air, Scorpion Exo-Tech, Scorpion VX-16Air e Scorpion Belfast Carbon. Such growth is also due to Scorpion Exo's ability to exploit the latency of the competition, providing an effective after-sales service.

Scorpion Exo R1 Air: the features

Exo R1 Air is the brand new racing helmet dedicated by Scorpion Sports to all those who love speed. Characterized by a totally new design, new features and a decidedly low weight, it is the best racing helmet ever produced by Scorpion Sports. The shell is made of Ultra-TCT and is able to offer unparalleled protection. Extremely light, it allows for considerable energy absorption in the event of an impact thanks to its ability to progressively deform. Tested extensively in the wind tunnel, it has an aerodynamic shape that guarantees great stability even at the very high speeds reached in competitions at the highest levels such as Moto GP and Superbike. Compared to previous models, the interiors are softer, giving a general feeling of greater comfort. Like many other products in the Scorpion Sports catalogue, Exo R1 Air is equipped with the Air Fit system which allows you to inflate and deflate the internal cushions for an unparalleled fit while, thanks to the internal KwikFit profiling, it will be possible to easily put on and take off the glasses models most widespread.

Thanks to the Ellip-Tec mechanism, the visor can be replaced easily and without using tools. Equipped with very powerful springs, the system guarantees a totally airtight and quieter tightening along the seal for a smooth and distraction-free driving experience. Furthermore, the visor has a central locking mechanism that allows for easy and safe closing and opening and offers a very wide and improved vertical vision compared to its predecessor EXO-2000 Evo Air. Since the Exo R1 Air helmet is a product designed primarily for racing use, the 2D visor naturally has supports for the tear-off. In addition to the transparent visor, the Exo R1 Air also combines a "Dark Smoke" visor as standard while the Pinlock 100% MaxVision system can ensure 100% anti-fogging action. The upper air intake is large but with a low profile so as to blend perfectly with the aerodynamic curves of the helmet. The large quantity of captured air is poured inside and then discharged by the rear extractor in order to generate an aerodynamic load (downward thrust) for an even more stable ride at high speeds. The EXO-R1 Air has a lightweight Titanium “Double-D” ring closure system capable of guaranteeing the highest level of security. The weight is only 1.280 g in size M (+/- 50 g) which improves the weight of its predecessor by about 40 g, while prices range from 369,90 euros for the Solid version to 399 for the Grafic.

Scorpion Exo-Tech: the features

Exo-Tech is not just a simple alternative to what the market currently offers in the field of flip-back modular helmets. What makes it a particular product are its unique full-face design, the great visibility offered by the very large visor prepared for the Pinlock system (available as standard in the package), the small size of the shell, the great ease with which it is activates the chin guard opening mechanism and the large upper air intake with tension spring that can be opened with a simple touch capable of guaranteeing a huge air flow when the helmet is in full-face mode. This multipurpose helmet is on sale at a price ranging from 299,90 to 349,90 euros.

In the full position, the visor always guarantees a wide and safe vision and rises automatically when the chin guard is opened. The aerodynamic shape helps reduce wind noise even at high speeds. Furthermore, the shell fits perfectly with the chin guard when this is in the open and folded position, reducing annoying turbulence and air vortices to a minimum. Exo-Tech has removable and washable interiors in soft 3D foam covered in hypoallergenic, antimicrobial and breathable KwikwickIII fabric, KwikFit internal bearing system that allows you to easily put on and remove the most used glasses models. The large internal retractable sun visor designed to give maximum comfort and maximum visibility. Makes riding safer when light penetrates too violently inside the helmet. Thanks to its particular design, it never comes into contact with the face and/or the profile of the nose. The available sizes range from XS to XXL, while the weight is 1,700 g in size M (+/- 50 g) for the medium shell. It will be available from March 2019.

Scorpion VX-16 Air: the features

To replace a bestseller like the VX-15 Evo AIR, Scorpion has bet hard on the brand new VX-16 Air entry level off-road helmet with specifications and technologies that surpass its predecessor on every level. Lighter, with a sharp and angular profile, more comfortable, even richer in equipment but all offered at an incredibly competitive price.

Developed with the collaboration of the best off-road cross and enduro riders, the new Scorpion VX-16 Air inherits the winning formula from its predecessor and improves it further: a weight of just 1180 g in size M (with a gain of over 200 g), an even wider field of vision, a redesigned chin guard to make breathing even easier during effort, a visor positioned higher up and with super efficient aerodynamic carvings for an even more aggressive look, "peak extension" as standard, new internal cheek pads 3D Contour which combined with the Scorpion Airfit inflation system give a helmet that every time seems to have been modeled on the wearer's face. As for graphics, VX-16 Air offers seven variants in 19 different color combinations. Available in sizes ranging from XS to XXL, it is on sale at the following prices of 139,90 euros for the Solid version and 169,90 euros for the Graphic version.

Scorpion Belfast: the characteristics

Last but not least new from Scorpion is the new Belfast, the Korean jet which comes with an even stronger character, a classic style and a very high level of comfort for a weight of less than one kilogram. Belfast is now made of carbon.

The retractable sun visor, the vintage leather effect and the hand-sewn lining make this helmet a reference also for the world of café racers and customs. In short, it is a retro-style jet with an unparalleled look for truly absolute pleasure. Available in sizes from XS to XXL, there are two shells, XS/L and XL/XXL. The recommended retail price (including VAT) is 299,90 euros.
