Samsung Smart Windshield – On the occasion of EICMA 2016, the most important event dedicated to the world of two wheels, Samsung Electronics Italia announces in collaboration with GIVI the arrival of Smart Windshield, the first intelligent windshield in the world which from concept finally becomes prototype.

Smart Windshield represents a revolutionary tool for young people who travel daily by scooter, a solution designed for urban mobility which, thanks to research and technological innovation, is able to offer useful functions to guarantee a greater level of road safety. In fact, according to ACI/ISTAT data, 24%1 of Millennials use a smartphone while driving: a figure which, combined with the high diffusion rate of two-wheeled vehicles (8,4% among 14-19 year olds and 4,8% among 20-292 year olds) confirms the importance of investing in solutions that ensure safety and prevent dangerous distractions. Precisely for this reason, Samsung, which has always been committed to the development of innovative projects capable of improving people's lives, brings the first intelligent windshield in the world to the market, with the aim of raising awareness among users included in the indicated target group to drive more carefully.

The collaboration with GIVI, a world leader in the production and marketing of accessories for motorbikes and scooters, fits into this framework, which has shared its experience, thus contributing to the creation of Smart Windshield, allowing two-wheel users to move in the city in maximum safety. A collaboration born from the sharing of values ​​such as attention to quality, the centrality of people, research and cutting-edge technological innovation, all elements that are perfectly combined in Smart Windshield.

Smart Windshield, a project managed and developed at all stages entirely by Samsung using proprietary technology, allows the driver to access the information received on their smartphone with the help of an App. Calls, SMS and WhatsApp messages, navigation, emails and other notifications can be displayed directly on the windscreen which allows you to choose whether to stop to answer or let an automatic reply message start. Smart Windshield has an ad hoc design designed to accommodate all the necessary technological equipment and will be available in different sizes depending on the type of scooter on which it will be mounted, and the Samsung device used, to offer safe driving to all drivers, ensuring maximum brightness even at night and greater stability on the road.
