Rustom: the Vecchio Conio special arrives from Lodi

Rustom Old Coinage – Give a purely aesthetic judgment on which was the most beautiful custom among those exhibited at the Motor Bike Expo it's practically impossible. The works created by the 700 exhibitors present at the Verona fair were too many and too different, but some were able to stand out for the great originality of their projects. Among these there is a small workshop in the Lodi area where everything is still done in an artisanal way, to create motorbikes that are true works of art. We are talking about Rustom, who at the gala Paint and Gasoline which was held in the splendid setting of the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, at the end of the first day of MBE presented the special Rustom Old Coinage.

It is a unique vehicle of its kind, starting from a Moto Guzzi V9 with the bodywork decorated with a sophisticated decoupage of Italian lira banknotes from 1921, the year the Como company was founded, up to the last print. The banknotes were applied to a special material and then covered with ten layers of transparent varnish for perfect waterproofing, so that even in the event of rain and other bad weather the coating was not damaged. All the "non-standard" pieces were made by hand or by modifying the original ones by Mattia Foroni and Roberto Zecca. Among the details that immediately catch the eye are the large fiber mudguards, the pneumatic shock absorbers, the full LED headlights and the very long Supertrapp silencers.
