Royal Enfield on the occasion of the 2021 edition of EICMA, the International Two Wheel Exhibition, presented the SG650 Concept. A prototype that indicates a new development over the 120 years of the brand.

Royal Enfield SG650 Concept

This concept represents the result of a challenge proposed by Mark Wells, Chief of Design of Royal Enfield, to the industrial design team. The Royal Enfield team has set itself the objective of starting a new creative path, starting from the stylistic sensitivity typical of the brand and then projecting it in a new direction, hinting at a potential future. This specimen intends “celebrate the transition”, was reported on the occasion.
As reported in a statement, Wells himself underlined that: “The design team did an excellent job, managing to maintain the analogue spirit (the lines and design nuances that are the hallmark of our company, a subtle homage to its past) and at the same time rewrite what the Royal Enfield of tomorrow could ideally represent in terms of form and functionality".
Adrian Sellers, Group Manager of the Industrial Design division and responsible for the SG650 Concept project, also underlines enthusiasm, adding: “It's always inspiring to design with a hypothetical scenario in mind and the brief was a real challenge on paper: to create a motorcycle that embodies both the legacy and future potential of Royal Enfield. It was a wonderfully collaborative and rewarding project, because it required input from creatives from various design departments (industrial design, color livery, graphics and CGI) and everyone added a piece to the puzzle to bring this parallel world to life”.
