Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 voted Indian motorcycle of 2019

La Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 was elected Indian motorcycle of 2019. After the more than positive feedback received upon its release, the time has come for the twin-cylinder to receive its first official recognition.

A prestigious recognition for Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

The motorcycle of the year award in India is a particularly prestigious recognition because it is assigned by a jury selected and made up of journalists from the country's main sector publications. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 preceded the Yamaha R15 (which was nevertheless remade with a real commercial success) and the TVS Apache 310RR which features the 310 BMW engine. The Interceptor was launched last September alongside the Continental GT650 with a presentation in California repeated by an event during the last edition of EICMA. Both bikes are powered by the same 650cc air-cooled engine producing 47PS and also share a chassis developed at the brand's UK technology center in collaboration with legendary motorcycle sports chassis builder Harris Performance. The Interceptor INT 650 follows a more classic style, taking up the style of the Royal Enfield twins of the 60s, with several features typical of the scramblers of that period. Retail prices in Italy start from 6200 Euros for the Standard / Orange Crush version, up to 6700 Euros for the Chrome / Glitter & Dust version. Starting from January 2019, Interceptor INT 650 will be available for test rides at European dealerships. Reservations and requests will be possible starting from mid-November.
