With massive tricks and jumps that reach the height of a building, freestyle motocross is among the most dangerous freestyle sports in the world. And Robbie Maddison is one of its best representatives. However, all this is not enough for the 28-year-old Australian who is always looking for a new and more intense adrenaline rush with the aim of emulating Evel Knievel, the famous stuntman who died in 2007. During 2007 and 2008 the freestyler improved for three times the world record for the long jump, eventually bringing him to a remarkable 107 meters (350 feet). In 2009 he greeted the new year by jumping onto the replica of the Arc de Triomphe in Las Vegas from a height of 30 meters and then returning to the ground. Also last year, the images of his jump from the Tower Bridge over the Thames went around the world.

Already several motocrossers in the past have cherished the dream of jumping from one end of the Corinth Canal built in 1893 to the other, but only the Australian stuntman managed to achieve this feat. From a completely linear start overlooking a swimming pool, across a football field, passing next to some chicken coops, on Thursday morning he stepped on the accelerator of his Honda 500 reaching 125 km/h. From a ramp he then catapulted onto the canal which ran 80 meters deep and then landed safely, after 85 meters of flight, on the hill on the other bank. The jump reached its peak at a height of over 95 metres!

The biggest challenge was only secondarily the difficult start characterized by a continuous change of surface - from grass to concrete, from wood to asphalt to the launch pad - declared Maddison. “Overcoming fear, this is the hardest thing ever!”

From Greece "Maddo" will move directly to Mexico City to continue his challenge with commitment, the start of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour, which this year he absolutely intends to win after the second place achieved in the last edition .
