rmk – The world of electric motorbikes is developing at a dizzying pace and all the main global manufacturers (even a brand like Harley-Davidson which has made tradition a value) are winking at zero-emission vehicles. An interesting news comes from Finland: RMK E2, a powerful electric sports motorcycle with a hubless rear wheel.

RMK E2: how it's made

Attention: RMK E2 is a real motorbike, with significant performance. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h, the result of the work of a powerful battery capable of achieving a range varying from 200 to 300 km depending on the model selected. The engine has a power of 50 HP with a maximum torque of 320 Nm. The most striking aspect of the RMK E2, also in terms of the engine (among other things produced in Finland), is the design. The electric motor is not inserted into the frame, but is housed inside the rear wheel which, however, has no pin. This innovative solution bears the signature of Teemu Saukkio who commented on the project thus: “This bike is a cross between a sports bike, a naked, but with a wide Harley-Davidson type handlebar. It looks like one of his sports bikes, but it's not“. Unlike many electric vehicles that try to hide unsightly thick cables, the engine power cables are inserted into orange protective sheaths that start from under the saddle and rest on the swingarm.
