Red Bull Moto chiX, two days of girl (motocross!) power

Attention, girls on the track! Battle at the last corner at the Cavallara cross track (PU) for the Red Bull Moto chiX, an all-female motocross school (with final challenge!), which saw the participation of ten girls from all over Italy.

On March 26 and 27, Red Bull decided to give a voice to all the girls passionate about this demanding sport, who were not afraid of covering themselves in mud and dust. After the final race, the twenty-year-old Eleonora Rivetti, from Guarene (CN), prevailed over her opponents. On the second step of the podium Alice Magnoli, while in third place the 15 year old Sardinian Michela Farci. As a reward for the victory, Eleonora will fly to the United States, to Colorado, to attend the Red Bull Motocross of Nations, which will be held on 25 and 26 September 2010. There the cross rider will have the unique opportunity to see the greatest champions live of the motocross world.

For the Red Bull Moto chiX the girls, selected on the basis of their video sent to www.redbull.it/motochix, gathered for two days at the Villa Tombolina farmhouse b&b in Montemaggiore al Metauro, where they faced a real motocross camp, which gave them the opportunity to learn and test themselves on the track, until the final challenge: a real race, which rewarded only one winner.

Over the two days, a theoretical part and a practice session on the track took place, during which the girls tested, for example, various types of curves and jumps, until they significantly improved their technique on two wheels.

The young cross riders were able to count on two exceptional teachers, two names that bring prestige to women's motocross on a global level: Stefy Bau, general manager of the FIM Women's Motocross World Championship, former World, American and Italy of MX and owner of the 211 MX school, and Ashley Fiolek, American athlete and motocross champion, who had the strength to overcome her handicap (Ashley has been deaf since birth) and to dominate in a sport where sound plays a fundamental role . Two women, a symbol of strength and experience, who the participants were able to take as models for their careers.

In addition to them, the MotoGP champion Andrea Dovizioso and Ivan Lazzarini, Italian Supermotard S1 champion and gold medalist at the 2009 “blessed among women”.
