Polini: presented a cast iron thermal unit for Vespa 200 PE – PX

Introduced by the research and development staff of Polini a modern cast iron thermal unit for Vespa 200 PE, functional to the intensification of reliability and performance.

The solution

The thermal unit increases the performance of the 12% with the same rotation speed compared to the previous example.
The head with increased fins, over the entire surface, allows to achieve a functional heat dispersion. The dome is machined and coupled with a copper gasket to intensify performance and optimize cooling. Furthermore, the centering pins with the cylinder favor a constant squish area over the entire diameter of the cylinder, as highlighted on this occasion.
The Polini cast iron cylinder kit for Vespa with 68,5 cast iron cylinder increases the displacement to 210 cc. The piston has been redefined with large passages on the skirt to facilitate the feeding of the transfer ducts. The duct and exhaust port have been developed with a new design to accentuate the performance of the engine.
