Along with the innovations for motorcycles with seventeen-inch fittings, a new one has been introduced first NHS competition range for motorcycles with ten and twelve inch fittings. This new proposal includes both slick solutions Diablo Superbike what clever solutions Diablo Rain usable on wet asphalt.

The main news for 2022

The tires Pirelli Diablo Superbike they represent the top of the Diablo range and are a slick type NHS (“Not for Highway Service”) developed exclusively for track use. In various compounds, they are tires designed to meet different needs on various types of asphalt and weather conditions. The development of Diablo Superbike is linked to the work in the FIM Superbike World Championship, in various classes and also in the national series.
The main innovation in the range of Pirelli tires intended for competitions is represented by the introduction of Diablo Superbike solutions with 10 and 12 inch keying, i.e. for a smaller wheel. Given a soft SC1 compound used in every size, DIABLO Superbike offers operational versatility in the face of temperatures and asphalt, from training to amateur and professional level competitions.
The profile was developed to optimize performance with 10 and 12 inch bikes in racing configuration. Compared to the carved Diablo Rosso Scooter SC model, the front and rear profiles of the Diablo Superbike include a double radius profile that promotes easy handling and a high feeling of control when cornering via a greater contact patch, as reported.

Furthermore, the cross-ply structure of the 10 and 12 inch Diablo Superbike types has been developed according to the characteristics of the recipient vehicles, facilitating rapid changes of direction and performance over an extended operating range.
Moving on to the 17-inch size, in 2022 a new 140/70 R 17 rear type in medium SC2 compound is also introduced which complements the SC1 solution, with riders in the Supersport 300 category in mind. A tire which, according to the indications, represents a choice functional in case of particularly low temperatures, high abrasiveness or even for those looking for high mileage. Several options are highlighted.

News also in the case of Diablo Wet, an intermediate solution between the slick type and the Diablo Rain tire. It can be used in case of intermediate weather conditions, for example on a track that is still wet but with drier trajectories.
The tread design has a lower number of grooves than the wet model and the compound has a high silica content which promotes chemical grip even on wet surfaces. A new 2022/200 R 60 rear size aimed at the Superbike and Supersport classes has been introduced in the 17 range, replacing the previous 190/60 R 17 size.

Finally, there are also innovations in the tires used in case of rain. Work has been done to refine the performance of the 200/60 ZR 17 rear, the reference size for the Superbike class and from 2022 also for the Supersport category, in place of the previous 190/60 R 17.
Pirelli Diablo Rain it is characterized by a design with a different angle between the grooves in the central functional area for more even wear and greater stability, compared to those located on the shoulder for optimal water expulsion, favoring grip when leaning and corner exit.
The Diablo Rain range also includes new solutions with ten and twelve inch fittings for competitions on scooters, pitbikes, minitards and MiniGPs.
All the sizes of the new Diablo Rain range are SCR1 with a compound with a high silica content that has evolved over the years, in light of the work carried out on international circuits. The development of this compound was oriented towards increasing performance and versatility, as reported.
