A summary table dedicated to the stylistic, technical and technological update of the scooter created by the Pontedera brand, in the Medley and Medley S configurations

Piaggio Medley it is a fusion of several aptitudes, concentrating characteristics similar not only to traditional scooters, but also to the most versatile examples GT. The renewed model, offered in two trim levels, also features higher-performance engines and functional technological aspects.

Aesthetics

The high wheel setting and a design that refers to the wider one Beverly, are connotative of the new Piaggio Medley. They combine lightness, practicality and versatility of use.
Starting from the aesthetics, you immediately notice a new vertical section with a three-dimensional honeycomb grille, reminiscent of the typical one "necktie" of the means signed by Piaggio, with a sportier setting. The handlebars and headlight have also been reshaped LED . The position and rear lights are also of the same type. Just as new is the digital instrumentation LCD, which includes a digital speedometer, tachometer scale and other indicators with functions that can be called up at the touch of a button FASHION located on the right block. There are also warning lights linked for example to "Start & Stop", which can be deactivated via a button on the right electrical block, or "check injection", fuel reserve, immobilizer, active ABS and more. The technological factors also include the connectivity solution PIAGGIO MIA present as standard on Medley S, allowing a connection between mobile device and vehicle via Bluetooth
PIAGGIO MIA and the Piaggio App they are designed for pairing iOS or Android mobile devices with the scooter, using the new instrumentation.
There is a large storage compartment in the shield and the style recalls that of a car interior, with a USB socket inside. A retractable bag hook is also visible on the back shield. Overall, the vision is composed of concave and convex surfaces, converging towards a slender rear area. The saddle appears profiled and designed to accommodate two people. Also new are the retractable footrests with rubber inserts, useful for the passenger. Under the electrically opening saddle, by pressing a button attached to the handlebars, there is a generous 36-litre compartment that can accommodate two full-face helmets. A notable result, obtained by optimizing the new rear of the vehicle and moving the 7-litre fuel tank more centrally, as reported, to the benefit of overall dynamism. Finally, a 16-inch front wheel (the rear is 14 inches with a wider 120/70 tyre). The façade appears raised, also promoting comfort and agility. The rims are made of aluminium, distinguishable by a six-spoke design.

Features

The vehicle rests on a frame “low single cradle” made of steel tubes, characterized by tubular and sheet steel reinforcements with limited overpass.
At the front there is a fork with 33 mm stanchions, at the back a pair of double-acting shock absorbers and coil springs with preload that can be managed in 5 positions. The indicated dry weight amounts to 136 kg, the wheelbase a 1.395 millimeters, while the height of the saddle touches i 799 mm.
The braking system, then, consists of two discs measuring 260 and 240 mm respectively with double-piston floating calipers and anti-lock system. ABS. Each wheel has a sensor and a tone wheel focused on the rpm, instantly evaluating speed and deceleration compared to that linked to the vehicle. These sensors are in turn combined with a 2-channel hydraulic control unit which recalls the aforementioned ABS system, in the event that one of the two wheels decelerates abruptly, avoiding locking. Among the solutions mentioned also a "tilt sensor", another safety solution that disables the Start & Stop, and therefore the engine, in the event of a fall.

engines

The push of Piaggio Medley it is produced by an evolution of single-cylinder engines i get, in cubic volumes 125 e 150 cc. Unit with electronic injection, liquid cooling and four-valve distribution. The first develops 11 kW of power a 9.000 rpm e 12 Nm of torque a 6.500 rpm, instead the one from 150 cc 12,1 kW a 8.750 rpm e 15 Nm of torque a 6.500 rpm. Reference values among medium-sized high-wheel scooters.
The result of optimizing thermodynamic performance, reducing friction and noise, to the benefit of performance and driving consistency. Among the peculiar aspects, the following stand out: a cylinder head born from a completely new casting with ducts and valves with an increased section; a distribution system with new lightened rocker arms; a redesigned camshaft profile; therefore yet another new piston updated from the geometry point of view; a new injector; a new throttle body with a diameter increased by 2 mm and a completely redefined filter box. The muffler is also new with a larger volume, which also promotes greater silence. The transmission is type CVT. As mentioned, there is a Start & Stop system patented by Piaggio called RISS (Regulator Inverter Start & Stop System).
The manufacturer highlights consumption on the WMTC cycle equal to 41,5 km/l for the Medley 125 and 41 km/l for the Medley 150, therefore maintenance intervals with replacement of lubricants and filters every 10.000 km and clearance adjustment valves every 20.000 km, always following the instructions.

Accessories, versions and colors available
