Piaggio has started production in India which already complies with the stringent emissions regulations
It is called Bharat Stage IV
Piaggio – The Piaggio Group announces that it has already started the production of 2, 3 and 4-wheel vehicles compliant with the new emissions regulations a few months ago, Bharat Stage IV, which will come into force next April 1st.
Specifically the scooter Aprilia SR 150 launched on the Indian market last August, it responded to stringent emissions regulations right from the start of production, while the Vespa models and three- and four-wheeled commercial vehicles produced in the Baramati plant (in the state of Maharashtra) are produced in compliance with Bharat Stage IV standard since last February.
The Piaggio Group has always paid particular attention to the engineering of its products to reduce emissions to a minimum and thanks to this careful policy it has managed to comply with the new legislation early without risking repercussions in terms of production and sales. The dealers present in the Indian Sub-Continent already have "Bharat Stage IV" Piaggio Group vehicles, and any residual dealer stock (at most equivalent to a few weeks of sales) will be managed in compliance with the emissions directive issued by the Supreme Court of India.
