Piaggio Group: new production plant inaugurated in Indonesia

In the path of internationalization and expansion of Piaggio Group, inaugurated a new production center in Jakarta, capital ofIndonesia. The plant is located in Cikarang district, West Java, on a building area of ​​55.000 square meters.

Il Piaggio Group it is active in over 100 countries with a distribution network made up of over 4.000 points of sale, considering 2-wheelers and commercial vehicles, together with 800 Motoplexes globally. In Indonesia, the commercial network currently relies on over 50 dedicated sales points, including seven Motoplexes in Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya and Jogjakarta, flagship stores featuring the Group's four brands: Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Vespa. The inauguration of the new plant in Indonesia took place in the presence of the Indonesian authorities, including the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and the Italian Ambassador to Indonesia, SE Benedetto Latteri. 


This country, with around 5 million two-wheeled vehicles sold annually and a population of over 276 million inhabitants, represents the third largest scooter and motorbike market in the world, after India and China. Adding the new establishment, they become eight i industrial hubs linked to the Piaggio Group, recalling: the three Piaggio and Vespa plants, that of Aprilia and that of Moto Guzzi in Italy; the Baramati site in India; the two in the Asia Pacific area, specifically in Vietnam and China; then the Piaggio Fast Forward plant in Boston, the company focused on robotics and the mobility of the future.
