Realities and designers from more than 60 countries introduced over 6.500 nominations, in one of the most prestigious events dedicated to design. In the 2020 forty experts, coming from different disciplines, focused on various aspects including design, production quality, ergonomics, functionality and materials used. A world-renowned awards event, established in 1995 by Peter Zec, President of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), renamed World Design Organization in 2017.

The highest recognition ai Red Dot Awards – Product Design, “Red Dot: Best of the Best”, was assigned to Trip by an international jury in the meta-category “innovative products”Considering “the extraordinary level of innovative design and out-of-the-ordinary planning”, as reported. Also highlighted “the qualities and peculiarities of the robot, a real personal assistant that represents the light mobility of the future”, is highlighted again on this occasion.
The quality seal Red Dot for the product design class, then, it concerns the best products for "recognized qualities in terms of design and innovation". A seal also received by brands such as Apple, Braun, Acer, Fujifilm, Bosch and Philips, including those listed.
The robot Trip is made in the new factory in Piaggio Fast Forward in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston. The marketing, which started last November on online channels, is structured following a first phase which involves the US market, given that the circulation of robots along city streets is already regulated.
This robot is the first innovation project signed by Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF), a company linked to the Piaggio Group (PIA.MI) present in Boston, which is interested in robotics and future mobility. It is a "robot carrier" type "Follow me", capable of carrying objects up to 20 kg of weight and follow the owner inside and outside buildings, reaching a maximum speed of 10 kilometers per hour. The indicated autonomy amounts to 4 hours.
