Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF), company of Piaggio Group (PIA.MI) based in Boston and focused on future mobility and robotics, has started some pilot programs, together with partners engaged in business sectors to test further applications of the robot carrier Trip in different contexts, such as retail, but also residential or tourism.

A futuristic project Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF). A robot carrier of the type "Follow me" which can carry weights of up to 20 kg and follow the owner in indoor and outdoor environments, reaching a maximum speed of 10 kilometers per hour for an autonomy of 4 hours, according to the information. It is made in the new Piaggio Fast Forward factory in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston. The marketing, which began last year on online channels, includes a first phase focused on the US market, where the circulation of robots on city streets is regulated.

Pilot programs

Piaggio Fast Forward now turns its attention to new opportunities for integrating robotics in the business to business sector, to refine and make the mobility of workers and users in different fields more efficient.
The first pilot projects involve relevant partners including the following:

– Cincinnati International Airport (CVG). With a transit of approximately 7 million passengers per year, it is one of the main hubs in Kentucky, and is known for adopting the most cutting-edge technologies in the airport sector. Gita will be used to facilitate contactless and digital concierge services for travelers and to provide support in activities such as baggage and cargo handling;
– Delivery Co-op, a company specializing in last mile delivery of food products in the city of Lexington, Kentucky. Gita will be used for safe and contactless deliveries, offering greater security;
– Doğan Trend Automotive, part of the Doğan Group, an Istanbul-based holding company that brings together numerous companies active in multiple sectors, including energy, industry, fuel, financial services, internet and entertainment, automotive, tourism and real estate, playing a pioneering role in Turkish market. Gita will be tested in a shopping mall and at the waterfront of the Istanbul marina, and will be made available to customers and staff to facilitate transport operations and the movement of purchased goods or personal effects.
