Piaggio – Piaggio and (RED) announce the start of a partnership to support fundraising to finance programs to fight AIDS. Also present at the event that saw the birth of the collaboration between Piaggio and (RED) was Bill Gates who, with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is among the world's leading protagonists in the battle for health and well-being in developing countries .

Vespa will develop a (RED) vehicle. From the sale of each specimen, 150 USD will be used to support the activities of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Two prestigious brands, known worldwide, join together in the battle for a world in which no child can be born with the HIV virus. “The partnership with (RED), one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, represents another concrete commitment by Piaggio in this area.” underlines the President and CEO of the Piaggio Group, Roberto Colaninno “This is why today we are happy and proud to have been chosen by (RED) to represent the world of mobility among their partners. It will be a global collaboration between two companies recognized worldwide as symbols of professionalism and excellence".

The Vespa (RED), which will be presented, in its definitive form, at the next Eicma show in Milan (from 10 to 13 November), was previewed in Rome, during a Global Fund event at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. The Vespas that will be produced in the partnership with (RED) will be marketed in Europe, Asia, the Pacific Area and the United States. The first group of (RED) Vespas will go on sale in December 2016, coinciding with (RED)'s Shopathon campaign.
