Euro 5 units

The evolved Piaggio Beverly it is characterized by a new, sportier style, a renewed chassis and new 300 hpe and 400 hpe engines.

Aesthetics

A redefined appearance already observing the redesigned shield with a "V" shaped slot and three-dimensional honeycomb grille, which appears more protective. The features appear more stretched laterally, tending towards a streamlined and upwardly developed rear part. An extractor profile that recalls the automotive world and aspects that offer a sportier vision. Here you can also see a new motorcycle-derived license plate holder.

Figure a new digital instrumentation visible on a screen LCD da 5,5 inches along with new and redefined handlebar controls. A new front headlamp also stands out LED and the directional indicators, position lights and rear light unit are also of the same type.

In the center of the platform there is a tunnel connected to the under-seat side panels. The underseat is functional and is equipped with a courtesy light and can accommodate two jet helmets with the fuel tank positioned in the center of the footboard. A choice also linked to balance. The ergonomics of the saddle have been refined, developed on two separate levels for the driver and passenger with a double covering and double stitching, also facilitating ground support and a high level of comfort. The wheels with a sporty seven split-spoke motif are also new.

fittings

The proposal includes an elegant example Beverly and the sportiest Beverly S.
Al Piaggio Beverly the shades are matched White Moon and the new metallic colours Oxygen Blue e Gray Cloud which are associated with finishes with light and warm metallic shades, as well as a dark brown saddle with double tone-on-tone stitching. Also matching light gray wheel rims.

Piaggio Beverly S it is distinguishable from the matt graphite gray finishes associated with the matt shades Silver Comet e Black Storm, therefore a more lucid Sunset Orange. There is also a new black saddle in two materials with double contrasting stitching and dark gray rims.
The range of accessories that can be associated with the Beverly range is varied, reinforcing the comfort and versatility of each example.

Technology

The suspension part has been renewed. Together a double cradle frame made of high-strength steel tubes and pressed sheet metal, there is a new Showa fork with 35 mm diameter stanchions and a new pair of rear-mounted double-acting Showa shock absorbers and coil spring with preload adjustable to 5 positions, designed for this example. Traction control is highlighted ASR and a powerful braking system with an anti-lock system Two-channel ABS.

In front there is a large 300 mm semi-floating disc, the largest in the category, flanked by a double-piston floating caliper and 12,7 mm pump. Behind there is another disc from 240 mm. The front light alloy wheels are 16 inches, while the rear ones are 14 inches. The model with the 400 hpe engine wears wider tyres: a 120/70 size at the front compared to a 110/70 type, 150/70 at the rear instead of 140/70.

Equipment and technology

Among the technological aspects of the new Beverly there is a keyless system which speeds up starting, engaging the steering lock or opening the seat and fuel door, whilst keeping the key in your pocket. Looking at the back shield, the ignition switch with lock is replaced by a knob which can be used to start, underlined by a Piaggio logo visible on the instrument panel frame. The engine is started, as usual, via a button located on the right block.

Returning to the new digital instrumentation, various information can be viewed via the button FASHION. You can see the speedometer and tachometer scale in the center, displaying total and trip odometer, air temperature and more. Using the warning lights it is possible to monitor functions such as activation of the ABS and immobilizer, "injection check", fuel reserve or oil pressure.
Among the interesting solutions, a connectivity system is also mentioned PIAGGIO MIA, present as standard on the 400 hpe version, which allows the connection of an iOS or Android mobile device via Bluetooth to the vehicle, providing features that enrich the driving experience.

engines

The engines Euro 5 Family High Performance Engine (hpe), 278 and 399 cc, are single-cylinder 4-stroke with 4 valves, electronic injection and liquid cooling.
After Vespa GTS e Piaggio MP3, the engine 300hp it is also combined with the new Piaggio Beverly and managed by a latest generation Magneti Marelli MIUG4 control unit functional to overall efficiency. It also allows starting after just two turns of the crankshaft.

The maximum power is 25,8 horses (19 kW) at 8.000 rpm, increased by 23% compared to the previous unit of the same displacement and, as reported, the torque peak is 16% higher, reaching 26 Nm at 6.250 rpm.
The engine 400hp it takes the place of the 350 cc unit and is based on it. An advanced heart while maintaining weight and dimensions substantially similar to those of the 350 cc engine. Among the connotative aspects, an innovative system patented by Piaggio stands out PCV - Positive Crankcase Ventilation, consisting of two blades integrated into the engine crankcase to reduce pumping losses and facilitate the increase in power, but also a new specific muffler with double terminaland which takes up a motorcycle concept.

This engine, like the 300 hpe one, is also controlled by a powerful Magneti Marelli MIUG4 control unit and features an iridium spark plug. The transmission has also been refined, considering a cover of the automatic CVT speed variator with a new shape designed to support the cooling of the belt, also taking into account the increased diameter of the fan. The maximum thrust signal reaches 35,4 horses (26 kW) at 7.500 rpm with 37,7 Nm of torque at 5.500 rpm.
