Peugeot returns to competitions by entering the new World E-Bike Series championship, a competition with professional cyclists competing on e-Bikes.

Entry into the new World E-Bike Series electric MTB competition does not happen by chance. Starting in 2019, every new lion-branded vehicle has an electrified version. E-Bikes already make up a third of Peugeot Cycles' sales. The commitment to competitions will allow the French company to highlight the latest evolution of the PowerTube electric MTBs, whose BOSCH battery is integrated into the frame.

The new team will be composed of: Nicolas Lau, world class cyclist, Morgane Jonnier, winner of the French MTB cup, Jean-Roch Vecten, promising cyclist, and Vincent Ancelin, Team manager.

Nicolas Lau, 29 years old, distinguished himself in the Enduro World Series in 2016 (5th overall) and 2014. He scored a fantastic hat-trick in 2015 in the Transprovence, Ande Pacifico and Trans Savoie touring races. Nicknamed “King of blind racing” for his superiority in this discipline he is heavily involved in the development of mountain bike racing in Munster (Alsace). “I am committed to collaborating with PEUGEOT Cycles because the brand offers me the opportunity to practice my passion in ideal conditions for me. Cycling, testing, racing and development activities are areas in which I can continue to express myself. I am very happy to be able to explore new horizons in the cycle sector with such an iconic French brand as PEUGEOT.” said Nicolas Lau.

Morgane Jonnier, 28 years old, has been racing for Peugeot Cycles since December 2017. She won the French Mountain Bike Enduro cup in 2018, at the end of 5 heats. Morgane is also French vice-champion of Enduro mountain biking. “Being present from the start in a team, which also belongs to an emblematic French brand, is a passionate and exciting challenge. A true honor!” said Morgane Jonnier.

Jean Roch Vecten, 25, has been an ambassador for Peugeot Cycles for 3 years. Winner of the Elsass Enduro Tour in 2011 in the Junior category, he is involved in training young people through his club and participates in various internships. “My adventure with PEUGEOT Cycles began 5 years ago. Racing for this historic brand and participating in its rebirth in mountain bikes immediately fascinated me. Today the Mountain Bike range has nothing to envy of other racing bikes. Being a protagonist of this revolution is a source of motivation. It's even more exciting with the development of the Team! The adventure continues!” said Jean-Roch Vecten.

Vincent Ancelin, 44 years old, is now the team manager of the team and the ambassador of Peugeot Cycles for 6 years. He is involved in product development, events and press relations. Since 2002 he has had a series of sporting successes in downhill marathons and Enduro. Vincent also won the Electric Enduro in 2017.
