Peugeot Metropolis RX-R: the most powerful three-wheeler on the market

Peugeot relaunches the challenge of building the best three-wheeled scooter by launching the Peugeot Metropolis RX-R which renews itself while preserving its own qualities. The new design of the 13" wheels shows its sporty character, improving comfort and handling. Powerful e practical, this urban vehicle reinvents the idea of ​​mobility.

Metropolis RX-R is now offered with a new engine which delivers 35,6 hp and with a pair driving force of 38,1 Nm, the highest power in the category. The high torque at low rpm further improves driving pleasure. Thanks to tech LFE, based on a double connecting rod on bearings, noise and consumption are reduced. Result: unique driving pleasure and improved handling in city traffic. Peugeot design DNA gives the Peugeot Metropolis RX-R all its character: floating grille, almond-shaped front headlights, boomerang-shaped rear lights, all housed in a matt black fairing. Peugeot Metropolis RX-R is equipped with smoked sports windshield, aluminum platform and black circles. A characteristic that transmits elegance, sobriety and at the same time one sporting spirit. With the floating grille positioned directly under the headlights, Peugeot Metropolis RX-R takes on the brand's latest distinctive features. The light clusters of the Peugeot Metropolis RX-R blend with the bodywork, accentuating the distinctive character of the scooter: the front headlights are oblique, the rear ones are boomerang-shaped like those of the now famous Peugeot 208. Peugeot Metropolis elegantly combines mother-of-pearl, metal and the chrome elements. A design choice that enhances the fluid lines and the light profile of the three-wheeler. The backrest for the driver and footrests for the passenger give the Peugeot Metropolis RX-R exceptional driving comfort. The spacious foldable footrests offer the passenger maximum comfort. The large handles allow perfect ergonomics. As for the solutions load, Peugeot Metropolis thinks big: in the two communicating underseat compartments, in fact, there is space for a PC or a jet helmet with visor and a full-face helmet. Thanks to the height adjustable in less than two seconds, the windscreen ensures optimal protection from the elements for all body sizes, from 1,65 to over 1,90 m. To start the scooter, simply slide a finger over the Smart Key in your pocket. This little technological gem is recognized within 1,5 m of the vehicle. By simply pressing a control in the center of the handlebar it is possible to lock the rear wheel of the scooter after parking or when stopping uphill. The Anti-tilting system allows the inclination of the vehicle to be blocked, offering the driver the possibility of not putting his feet on the ground at traffic lights or when the vehicle is stopped.

Metropolis RX-R offers the highest safety levels thanks to respectable equipment. To offer comfort and safety, the scooter is equipped with tire pressure control sensors with relative warning light in the LCD display. THE aspheric rear-view mirrors, thanks to the convex profile of the glass, guarantee the absence of blind corners. The deformable parallelogram front end (DTW) is a true concentration of technology that offers exceptional road holding and stability, allowing the new Peugeot 400i LFE engine to unleash all its power. Peugeot Metropolis is the only 3-wheel scooter equipped with the technology DRL (Daytime Running Lights): the five powerful LEDs, positioned on the front axle structure, are lit during the day and improve visibility in traffic. Furthermore, there are two 2 x 55 W halogen lights and LEDs in the direction indicators and headlights. L'ABS it is based on a mixed solution - Nissin for the calipers and Continental for the ABS module - further improves an already effective system by allowing stopping with 23% less from 50 km/h compared to the SBC (Synchro Braking Concept) solution. Drawing on its experience in the automotive sector, Peugeot Scooter is the first manufacturer in the world to equip its vehicles with automatic warnings. The stop lights emergency switches are activated at speeds above 50km/h if the vehicle is subject to a deceleration greater than 6m.s-2 and are deactivated if the deceleration is less than 2,5m.s-2. The Traction Control System (TCS) provides the driver with three settings (Off/Urban/Sport) with which he can customize performance according to driving style and environmental conditions. When the vehicle is started, the Traction Control System is automatically set to Urban mode.
