For the global event “The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2022”, scheduled on 22st May, for the first time the city of is also the protagonist Olbia. The location becomes part of the network of 50 Italian locations where numerous motorcyclists will travel for the charity event.
The Olbia stage will start on the morning of May 22nd at 09.30 am with a meeting at the Doppio Malto Olbia restaurant, in via Bambini di Beslan, and then continue for about forty kilometers between the city and the coast, with a stop in the town square, before returning again at Doppio Malto for an aperitif enriched by a live concert by the Shakin'Apes.

The initiative

“The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride” is a charity motorcycle event born in 2012, taking inspiration from a photo of Don Draper, protagonist of the TV series Mad Men, portrayed on a classic motorbike dressed in an elegant suit. Numerous motorcyclists move in different cities around the world and the aim of the event is to raise funds for the Movember Foundation, an organization that supports research into prostate cancer and promotes programs to support men's mental health. From its inception to date, more than $31,6 million in donations have been raised.

They return to the event planned in Olbia, everyone can contribute to the charity event even by staying for lunch at Doppio Malto, which also offers a craft beer produced in the nearby Doppio Malto factory in Iglesias. The venue will donate 10% of the proceeds from the event to the Movember Foundation.
Also present are local and non-local artisans, artists, a "barber corner", a tattoo corner and a space dedicated to the vintage universe. Various activities are planned such as a Slow Race, in which whoever finishes last wins, together with a Photo Contest. To participate you must be registered on the official website and have donated at least 10 euros for the Photo Contest and 20 euros for the Slow Race. Original prizes proposed by exhibitors are expected. Registrations are still open to participate in "The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride" which can be done on the website linked to the event by choosing the city of Olbia.
